    Haven't considered it in depth but off the top of my head Marquez would seem to be a clear winner.

    Marquez has the better resume.

    You can make a case for Marquez winning the first 3 fights with Pac.

    Marquez. Whilst I respect Cotto, he was never the clear top dog at any of those weights and got found out at the very top level.

    Only an idiot would question whether Cotto was greater than Marquez, truly.
    Marquez is an ATG, Cotto at best is the lowest tier of HOF.

    JMM is greater. He has one of the most memorable knockout wins over one of the best and most ferocious fighters of this era. Cotto is great in his own right, and has some very good wins, but he came up short in his biggest fights Ala Oscar De La Hoya. I still want to see that fight though, Cotto-Marquez.

    Marquez is one of the best counter punches of our era imo. He clearly has more talent than Cotto, although both men were warriors.

    Cotto retired S. Martinez but gets zero credit because all his lame fans blame his executioner for Sergio ripping them off?

    Marquez probably goes down as greater but I personally prefer Cotto.
