Another joke of a thread ..Roy beat a least 2 of his contemporaries in Toney and Hopkins in their prime ,Who has Mayweather fought that was his ? Mayweather is extremely talented but he has no one opponent on his résumé that he could be really measured in greatness by !

He beat Chavez, McGirt (x2), Nelson and a beast of a LMW in Vasquez at a weight he looked terribly soft at. Not too bad.

Castillo, Corrales, Baldomir, Manfredy, and Ortiz were certainly in their prime. The moment of their careers where a victory over them was the best quality victory anyone could have achieved over them.

I would say Hatton but then one could say "yeah but not at WW."

I would say no to Oscar but then again one could say "yeah but not up at JMW."

I will say that Oscar, Mosley, Cotto, Hatton, Marquez, and Gatti are 6 of the 20-25 or so defining fighters of the last 20 years.

Well, I would hope an ATG @ MW could beat an era dominant but nowhere close to ATG LW. Big respect for figuring that out. That's like if we were comparing RJJ to a Klitschko and saying, "yeah, but Klitschko would have killed James Toney with his style."

Floyd is greater, Roy was better in his prime. Dont think Floyd will finish his career getting ko'd by C fighters and struggling with E fighters but same was said I'm sure when Roy was the face of boxing.

Roy was better when both were at their best and has a better resume.

    It's a no brainer.

If you put this in classic boxing forum where people actually know about boxing, then they would all concur that Roy Jones is greater.
