Lachbuster had a good idea for a thread, so I'll run with it too. Added element to this one.....name your choice in the pairings, but also tell us whom you believe to be the best of all of the whole list.

    Who's greater?

    Carlos Ortiz or Vicente Saldivar

    Floyd Patterson or Dwight Qawi

Matthew Saad Muhammad or Victor Galindez

    Jose Napoles or Miguel Canto

    Jake Lamotta or Dick Tiger

Do you think Paterson had the size to squeeze into cruiser during Qawi`s prime? During his day earlier in his career Floyd fought at light heavy.

    Saldivar
Braxton yes. Less savage and feral Qawi no.
I love Saad. Saw him live often but gotta go with "Viscious" Victor
Napoles. But, Canto stood on top of that division like a monolith in his prime.

I think Napoles was probably the “better fighter” but Ortiz is the greater fighter or at least I think his career was better. I love both fighters.

Do you have Saldivar and Ortiz close? Or a wide gap?

I have them very close and used to have Ortiz slightly higher, then flip flopped them...now getting ready to look at them all over again

Ah, i guess i should specify

All close except for Napoles, which is the most obvious one imo

Ironically this thread came right as i started educating myself more on hispanic/lower weight boxers
