Duran is probably more popular on this forum, and it's still very much a question in this thread.

I ment Ali's popularity in general not on the forum. Ali became saint like as time went by the world over. Duran is a fleeting name except in Latin America. He is nowhere near as popular or recognizable as Ali.

I don't think you quite understand. I'm questioning why Burley is above Robinson, it doesn't actually make much difference to me.

I know. But on this forum the majority so far has Ali as the greater fighter, despite Duran being the more popular fighter here.

Robinson had his chances to face Burley and prove he was better. I don't see Ray going even five rounds with Archie Moore.

    So that makes Burley greater?

Uhh, to give light heavy Archie Moore an absolute boxing lesson on a few hours notice while still a welter, as in total domination and dropped and beaten up, after a 10hr shift grafting before hopping on a bus, I don't think anything is so impressive.

You don't see Robinson going five rds with MW Archie Moore of the early 40's?

He beat Fritzie Zivic and the Cocoa Kid for the Negro title within two years of turning pro at 19 with limited amateur experience. Insane.
