I'm not saying it's not impressive, but you have Burley above Charles. Charles beat Moore just as clearly, twice. And another time in a war. He beat Marshall, twice (who beat Burley), and Bivins (who also beat Burley) and obviously Charles also beat the **** outta Burley, twice.

You still haven't answered my simple question, does that really make Burley greater than Robinson?

Charles hadn't just worked a 10hr shift before hopping on a bus at short notice to drop him four times in four rounds.

Burley was a MW, not a welter. The Robi who fought Maxim (I think there was like 2lbs difference between Burley and SRR in those two fights) would see 5 with Moore.

No you're quite right, he just beat him three times. And then beat a slew of guys who beat Burley. And Burley himself. Twice.

He was 155 for the fight. Just half a pound lighter than Robinson was when he stopped LaMotta.

There's a reason Ray didn't take the fight. Charles was fresh and bigger, Burley already had 60+ fights and Charles about 25.

Got the best of the series with Holman Williams above his natural weight, one that Williams won on points was said to of been a clear Burley win

He also fought Charles just six days after a 15 round win over Williams!

Yes, that the offer was for a fight 12 days after his fifth fight with LaMotta.

I think Ezzard was also a late sub in one of the fights with Burley, and much naturally bigger - Charles was coming down to make middle and Burley force feeding to get above welter

There was 5lbs difference. And Charles being a late-sub means he was the one at a disadvantage, not Burley.

With a 12 week camp, funded financially, at welterweight, with a gun to my head, Charley Burley is the best ever

Charles was clearly the bigger man. That's an advantage. You're a numbers guy, I'm a circumstance realist. Ezzard and Archie sauna'd themselves to make middle because there was more money in it, and Burley always forced himself up to middle because nobody would face him at welter
