And Charles knew Burley, Burley didn't know Charles

Can’t argue that. But that’s still not as many as Ali. Tunney win was an excellent win

No version of Burley would beat Charles. None. The only time Burley would win, is against the injured Charles vs Marshall. Charles in his debut would still beat Burley, and Charles in his actual prime would send Burley to the morgue.

Charles trying to make 147 would be fun to see.

You talk like Burley weighed in at 147 often. He stayed there for less than 3 years, and even then was often above 150.

He fought above his weight because nobody at welter would face him. He was too good

I just gave a few examples and let's be honest - Ali never beat as good boxer as Tunney, Loughran or Gibbons, he didn't beat as good swarmer as Walker either (sorry Joe).

Also, Burley over SRR or Charles doesn't make any sense to me either.

I'm not sure your thoughts on this matter place enough emphasis on Charles' superiority over Burley.

Charles hadn't fought at middleweight in his last 15 fights. He was always a smidgeon above so to say he was boiling down to make middle is incorrect.

Charles actually matured physically in the period during and after the war. He wasn't some light heavyweight starving himself to make middle prior.

Charles was actually a vulnerable fighter when facing Burley comparative to what he became a full 4 years later.

Moore too was not the fighter he was to become later on.

Duran is the better overall fighter for sure, so many ways to win but, Ali has to be the greater fighter overall

Cant remember if I posted but I'm saying it now that Duran > Ali p4p and it's not particularly close. I feel that Duran's opposition was better p4p than Ali's as well, and that moving through the weightclasses he proved his quality. Heavyweight is rarely a 'good' division and the divisions that Duran fought in were much better, simply because there are more medium and small people in the world than huge ones.
