Outboxed himself? I'm really lost now...

Okay quick edit, glad you acknowlege I wasn't envisioning a diesemboweled Klitschko, with 3 limbs amputated, fighting at Wleterweight.

    Sorry Polymath..

I misunderstood your posts, and apparently the thread for that matter. I thought we were talking more of a pound for pound, head to head match here.

For the record, Hearns was the better boxer in my opinion........Sorry for the confusion.

I still say, that your comment against Chris was a little uncalled for though, but **** happens I guess.......

Byrd was supposedly this great boxer and he was completely outboxed both times (especially the first time) by Wlad. Nobody in today's group has any chance to outbox him. Ali could.

Hearns was one of the greatest boxers of all time and is a better boxer than Wlad. Hearns is my no. 3 in "who beats who" welterweights all time after those two really sugary guys.

Paul Williams' reach is the same as Klitschko's.

    Paul Williams

    Height, 6'1"
    Reach, 82"

    Longer than Klitschko's.

No debate here, Hearns outboxed such masters and greats as SRL and Benitez convincingly. Even over the hill so to speak, he outboxed the Hill!

No comparison IMO. Hearns style was way more dominant too, he employed a stiff snapping aggressive jab, a long range body attack and the threat of the right hand bomb to actually dominate proceedings and be in command.

True. Williams is a freak. However he IS a middleweight by the time he enters the ring. Williams also seems way taller than his listed 6'1" - looking about 4" taller than the 5'11"-6' Margarito. He is, of course, no Tommy Hearns - when you factor in Hearns being one of the biggest p4p punchers of all time, and having such proportions, he's perfectly built for boxing.

It's ok. The man has some anger issues, not my problem.

I'd say Hearns was harder to outbox. The guy outboxed Benitez and he outboxed (for the most part) Leonard. Leonard just (to paraphrase Dundee) "took it away from him" at the end. Duran had no answer for Tommy boxing and potshoting him from the outside. That's about as good as it gets for competition.
Klitschko has never faced that level of competition. I think Lewis would've outboxed him. I'd say Lewis would beat Klitschko about 7 out of 10 times.

Not to mention what Benitez did to Cervantes and even Duran.

    Hearn's was terrifying in there.

just wait till he faced the much improved nicolay valuev who holds a signifigant size advantage on him, i think wlad might be in for a nightmare. that is, if wlad will ever get in the ring with valuev.

    And why wouldn't he?

You're confusing boring with willing to fight the best.
