Hearns losses include Leonard,Hagler, Barkley ( one of which is controversial) and Uriah Grant.

De la Hoya losses include Pacquiao, Mayweather Jr, Hopkins, Mosley twice, and Trinidad ( controversial).

    Who rates higher?:think

it's noted how great these fighters were and how accomplished they were against their opposition. I noted the losses to point out the level of competition they loss against. So yeah for this comparison I'd like to hear the forum's input highlighting losses.

I think wins and achievements are also important.

De la Hoya: Rafael Ruelas, Gernaro Hernandez, Julio Cesar Chavez (x2), Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Pernell Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Ike Quartey, Arturo Gatti, Fernando Vargas. 6 weight world champion.

Hearns: Pipino Cuevas, Wilfred Benitez, Roberto Duran, Doug de witt, Virgil Hill. 5 weight world champion.

De la Hoya's biggest wins are probably against Chavez and Whitaker (both of whom were way past their primes), Quartey, and Vargas.

Hearns' big wins came against Cuevas, Benitez and Duran. I think the fact that Duran went on to have an incredible performance against Barkley and Benitez had just beaten Duran and was on a great run makes these more impressive in my eyes. Plus Hearns didn't just beat Duran he khtfo.

Yet it is is also clear that they both lost in their BIG superfight match ups. Hearns against Leonard and Hearns, and De la Hoya against Trinidad (though that was very very close if not silly) and Mosley (the second match up again, arguably a robbery) and Hopkins
