That's a very astute comment, and my problem exactly. I'm a huge Lewis fan but on an ATG list I have to put Holyfield higher. Props to the OP who started this thread cause it's a pretty hard, yet interesting question.

  2. Thank you. I try to do my best

Thought about this a bit more:

Holyfield's higher than Lewis, because he dominated two weight divisions and was undersized at heavy. (so on a p4p list he certainly wins)

Jones, is probably the most talanted but he underachieved relative to his talent

Lewis did what he needed and was capable of doing, probably top 5 heavyweight of all time, but he had the size factor working for him

Floyd, probably technically the best of the bunch, had to say between him and Jones talent wise but they're certainly above Lewis and Holyfield, but talent isn't the same thing as accomplishment. But all and all I have to put his record ahead of Jones.

    1. Holyfield
    2. Mayweather
    3. Lewis
    4. Jones

    Tough one.

Super HWs are always going to struggle here since weightclass jumping is out of the question.
Smaller guys will always be given extra merit for gaining more titles as they move through weights. A lot more past, current and future title holders available to face.

    **** it.

    In the simplest terms:

Lewis - Klitschko win better than any of the below considering where Lewis was in his career. A lot depends on how harsh people want to mark down for the L's.

Holyfield - Ranking is subject to how people rank Bowe, I don't have him too high. Also the Evan Fields debacle.

RJJ - Had no right to win the HW title even if it was Ruiz. Toney and Hopkins great wins, can be marked down due to juicing as I do.

Mayweather - Speaks for himself (litterally) 2 Wins away from leap frogging the above.

I never took juice into account, if I did perhaps Holyfield falls a few ranks downward, as does Jones, but it's a bit subjective because like Armstong, just cause you don't get caught, doesn't mean you didn't do it. So who knows, maybe Lewis and Mayweather are juicing too.

Maybe, but unlike the other 2 there's never been cause/proof to cast suspicion on Lewis and Mayweather.

    Jones
    Holyfield
    Mayweather
    Lewis

Wouldn't be terribly bothered by Floyd over Holy, but I like that order best.

All those wins got him the undisputed hw championship and thats it..We are talking all time ..Are you really using Ruddock, Golata, and Grant as examples ?

Let me stop you I should have stopped reading when you said Grant was the American HW savior ! Who the hell dubbed him that ?If anything your overrating Lennox with your argument ..

Lennox is the tops of these guys. As good as Holyfield was I am pretty sure he cheated and we all know Roy did.
