To be honest Pac was actaully coming down in weight. Its more impressive from Floyd. Hatton was unbeatten and anyon that has a clue about boxing will tell you its harder to beat a fighter that has never been beatten. Secondly Hatton had no respect for Mannys power and thought that he would walk him down and knock him out. But mostly he lacked the confidence that he had in the fight with Floyd
Both were awesome, Ricky headbutting the ringpost was a thing of beauty but Pac's was just devistating.
:huhThe weight on fight night has nothing to do with at which division Ricky operates at his very best. Everyone knows that Ricky at WW was a HUGE mistake. JR WW Ricky was at his very best and was very dominating. As soon as he jumped up to WW he had major problems against some good WW's, but at Jr. WW he dominated very good fighters. Rick is faster, stronger and more comfortalbe.
depends what you value more mayweathers was way more technically impressive pacquiaos was way more impressive in terms of pure destruction
Actually he was LESS confident going in there with Floyd at WW.....he even stated that he "BELIEVED" he could upset Floyd but knew that it wouldn't be easy. When he talked about PAC he stated that HE WOULD BEAT PAC and that Manny wasn't going to be able to hurt him....so you were spot on about not respecting PAC's power....but he also never respected Floyd's either.
This. Pac could also run him down the whole 10 rounds then knock him out. But why do that if you can do it right from the start. Which is harder? Besides, we're talking about the better knockout here. Pac's easy.
Actually brah.....Manny "Technically" fought a perfect fight against Ricky. Ricky couldn't smother him like he was able to with Floyd and PAC kept Ricky at bay with his lead lefts and counter right hooks. PAC set Ricky up for that shot just as well as Floyd did with is perfect check hook.
That and the fact this guy mentions "Hatton had no respect for Manny's power and thought he was gonna walk him down and knock him out". Wow definitely sounds like Hatton had less confidence doesn't he? Pfft. Hey he also said, it's harder to beat a guy that's undefeated, which is bs and it's purely personal and specific to each fighter. Of course for him, Hatton's GOTTA be one of those for the sake of his love for Floyd.
Sorry that makes no sense. So you're saying that Ricky Hatton whos weight didnt change at all was automatically a poorer fighter just because the bout was a welterweight bout? So you're saying the term "welterweight" has some magical connotation that makes Hatton weaker for no reason. Hatton struggled at welterweight because he fought Luis Collazo, a big welter who probably should have got the nod against Berto and gave Mosley fits for a few rounds before he hurt his shoulder. Mayweather is a small welterweight, who spent 90% of his career at super feather. If the fight was at JWW they both would have probably weighed the same with Hatton again outweighing MAyweather. He was 152 against Paulie, same weight as when he fought Mayweather. So again, where's the difference?
Pac, it was at Hatton's own weight class, where he was very dominant and while Pac was the favourite slightley, noone saw him defeating Hatton the way he did, May was expected to beat Hatton.
Pacman's knockout was great. Mayweather was just better and landed the finishing left. Although I am not convinced that Pacman beat as good a Hatton as Mayweather did, but the knockout by Pacman was still better.
