And you believe the WWE paid him 20mil and he made 60mil out of his last fight that only grossed 250mil.
If you put things in perspective. You be the judge of things and his fights and i belive he won the Tito Trinindad fight and Mosley2 fights, but lost the sturm fight. You take those 2 critical loses away and he is considered probably the best of his era. But those 2 crucial loses inhibit him from being the best of his era to one of the best. Had he won the Trinidad fight he would not have been so reckless in his first mosely fight and probably won that one. Even if he had lost the first fight with him then he avenged his only legit loss of his prime, in my eyes at least. If you go by records and acutally did not see any of his fights, then you are not taking all of the variables into account. He was the only man to ever, before hopkins to make trinindad look confused and fustrated, the only man!!! He beat trinidad, and he beat mosely in their second fight as well, the judges robbed his of his glory. After his 2nd mosely fight he was not the same anymore mentally and was not fighting 100 percent full time. But when he was in his prime he was better than he is given credit for.
What I mean is fighters in their prime. He is the same person saying mayweather fought a shot de la hoya, mosley etc. What about sweet pea and JJC? De la hoya doesn't **** on floyd in anything accept for fighting more fighters. If de la hoya beat them I would have no problems giving de la hoya his props. You know what they saw about de la hoya, he hasn't beaten a p4p fighter in their prime. Floyd has, that is my point.
And you can put that into air quotes when you say 'didn't beat' because everyone knows he won those fights. Point is, EVERY fight since LW for PBF has an asterisk next to it. Like all fighters, Oscar has a few of his own, JCC being old and above his best weight. The difference is Oscar took fights like that because he had to, and then he went out and fought the toughest fights he could find. Since LW, Floyd has looked for and found soft spots. Just look what's happening with Pac... it's not enough that Pac is smaller, Floyd is waiting until he's at least half shot as well before he'll agree to get in the ring with him. As far as fighting some high quality, still-prime fighter his own size, forget about it. Everyone that posts on this forum knows that isn't going to happen, even his fans, though they won't admit it.
The thing is if you are going to argue that JCC and Whitaker were old then surely you have to argue that both Shane and Oscar were old. If you aren't going to argue that JCC and Pete were old, then you can't argue that Shane and Oscar were old. Not everything is as black and white as that. The simple fact is you have two brilliant fighters in their primes who defeat great fighters, controversy or not, they beat them. They will always be ranked relatively close and some people will have preferences. The thing that stands out to me in this thread is the people saying "x is clearly" better. I think its damn close to be honest. I personally thought he beat Trinidad and Shane in the second fight. I have Oscars losses against Sturm, Hopkins, Mayweather and Manny. I do however go on how the judges scored the fights so I have consistency in my arguements.
And you know... if Floyd would just come out and say he's only in it for the money, he wants easy fights for big money ONLY, that would be one thing. He's basically said as much in the past, and I have no problem with that except for the excellent fights I'll never get to see. BUT -- you CANNOT let that philosophy guide your career, and then say you're greater than SRR, Ali and SRL. That's just goddam asinine.
most of the legends Oscar faced were past prime anyway & PBF was calling dude out when he was prime atsch
I believe it is close as well. I think floyd has a better legacy because he was top 10 p4p for a decade and a 3 time linear champion. Also he beat Oscar. Mayweather was the one who was moving up in weight and he wasn't a full welter either. De la hoya also has a great legacy as well. I believe he is a 10 time champ in 6 different weight classes. Also im pretty sure he has beaten more champs than anyone in a while. I just feel mayweather will go down as the greater fighter especially if he beats manny.
Shut The **** Up...Lol Nobody Wanna Here That Honor Speech ****! This Ain't Great Britain This America And U Either Win Or U Lose! Floyd Wins Oscar Loses, Point Blank! Thats Why Oscar Is The Golden Boy And Floyd Is The Face Of Boxing! Ya'll Mother****ers Are Stupid Anyway! You Fools Are Talking About Legacy When Floyd Clearly Told U He Don't Give A **** About Belts Or Legacy.Lol I Mean Look At Ali, Hearns, Frazier,Whitaker, Mosley, They Slur When They talk And Are Barely Coherent. From All Of The Wars They Were In! What About Joe Louis,Arturo Gatti, Mike Tyson;Roy Jones? They Got Chewed Up And Spit Out By The Politics And Capitalism In Boxing! Legacy is for ****. 5 weight champ. 41-0. 18-0 in world title fights. Something like 15-0 against world champions. But you're right you ****ing moron. He cherry picked all those victories. Floyds a ****ing mastermind. Evil genius. seriously how dumb are you?
Stupid argument. Hatton weighed the same against floyd as he did against Malignaggi. No ****ing difference if the fight had been at 140. Been over this 1,000 times with your hill billy ass you still dont get it. Oh and Hattons one other fight at 147 he performed better then Andre Berto did against Collazo.
