Who's more of a quitter: Ortiz or Robert Guerrero?

You say it was a small cut; the fact is there was a cut. When somebody quits w/o any clear injury (or serious hospital admissions after-the-fact) then you can question their heart. When there's a cut involved - regardless of your non-expert superficial opinion of it - you have to STFU and give the benefit of the doubt.

Guerrero is not a quitter until he proves that he is. Dead issue. Move on. Oh, your gut tells you different? **** your gut. You gut nothing (nyuk). NOTHING solid. You have to give the benefit of the doubt, because that's how we roll in this civilization. Innocent until proven guilty. :hi: Beyond reasonable doubt. Cuts, even small ones = reasonable doubt. Sorry.

When I signed up on a boxing forum in the first place, I figured it'd be an older crowd, a little more mature...but this place actually outdoes any heavy metal/anime/basketball forum I've ever trolled...hell, the MortalKombat IRC channel I frequented when I was 15 had less childish BS. :yep

Ortiz is a young fighter that was getting beat up and didnt know how to deal with it. He didnt ask for the fight to be stopped either. . . The ringside doctor didnt allow Ortiz the opportunity to go out on his shield.

its too early to start calling Ortiz a quitter.

 

The ref said "are you ok?" and Ortiz turned his back and shook his head.

 

I say Ortiz, I had high hopes for Ortiz. I can't believe it. I'm still in shock. "The Ghost" was a fighter that woiuld never make it to the big time anyway while ortiz was being groomed to be the next DLh.

 

He quit - The reason the doctor ended it is because he didn't want to continue (the cut was just an excuse - worst cuts have gone on. ie Cotto a couple of weeks ago). Even in the interview after the fight he admitted it when he said he didn't want to go out on his back, and has to re-think his future.

 

What i saw was the doctor shake his head no, then the ref waved the fight off. . .

seriously, people actually think that the events of that fight made Ortiz a "quitter"

a guy that spent the last round and a half hurt and dazed while still trying to turn the fight around with a gaping cut and a balloon hanging under his other eye ??? thats what quitters do?

 

Did you not watch the interview after the fight??? He pretty much admitted it.

"I was hurt. I'm not going to go out on my back. I'm not going to lay down for nobody. I'm going to stop while I'm ahead, and that way I can speak well when I'm older ... We'll see what happens from here on out. I'm young but I don't think I deserve to be getting beat up like this. I have a lot of thinking to do"
