Who's more underrated: Carlos Monzon or Dariusz Michalczewski

Going 12 with Hill while Roy took care of business in 4, losing to no skills Fabrice Tiozzo and another fighter Roy koed, giving a rematch to Richard Hall, DM was overrated if anything.

 

Tiozzo had been upto heavyweight at this point in his career and lost a few fights and he is only one year younger than DM. But yeah I am a diehard RJjr fan, guilty as charged. Still if DM wanted to prove his worthiness then he failed.

 

Who underrated Monzon?

 

Dumbest post of the week award right there.. saying that RJ did better against a common opponent proves what? That Roy was better? What's that prove? Nothing. Prime RJ was better than 95% of boxers ever.. Virgil Hill is a HOF fighter & Darius took both his belts & his 13 fight win streak. Roy did neither. Btw, you say going 12 like it's a bad thing .. how many times was Hill stopped in 58 fights? Once. As for Tiozzo , that fight was when he was 37 & had been essentially retired for 2 years after coming off a loss. The rematch with Hall was because the first fight was stopped on a cut, what's the problem? Michalkzewski should be applauded for it if anything.. cudda took the win & walked.. he didn't, he gave Hall another shot & got the job done. Besides Roy Jones was juiced to the gills against Hall we all know that now, in fact he was probably on the juice heavily throughout his career.. and you talk like Hall was some sort of bum, the guy was a gutsy fighter who managed to step in the ring with prime Jones & DM. Can't have been that bad can he? Didn't just beat Hill & Hall either did he.. Griffin, Thadzi, Rochigianni.. & yes you can point to controversial moments in a fighter's career, but what Fighter doesn't have those .. I can't think of one.. Are you just pissed cos Roid Jones never fought the real champ at 175? Lineal. I think so..

 

Sorta logic is that? Doesn't mean Dariusz wasn't shot does it.. as for proving worthiness.. says the guy that has never stepped in a ring.. you're just an internet Avatar mate , who are u to decide if a champion is worthy.. no one cares about u

 

I voted Monzon because he is another league but I want know who said that Monzon is not in history of boxing ?

I don't think I ever seen anyone rate Carlos Monzon lower than a top 5 ATG in middleweight history. Most have him in the top 3, I don't see how anyone can be underrated given those circumstances.

 

I don't think Dariusz and Monzon fit in the same line.

 

Monzon isn't underrated he's widely considered as one of the top 2 Middleweights of all time.

Michalczewski is known as the guy who didn't get to fight RJJ and is respected as a very solid champion but I wouldn't say his title reign was anything amazing.

I'd say both guys are fairly rated

RJJ fought Hill straight after Michalczewski beat him and stopped him in 4 rounds easily.

Michalczewski was in a back and forth war vs Hall and got his face rearranged and alot felt the stoppage was very beneficial to Michalczewski.

Michalczewski also was on his way to losing to Rocchigianni and pulled a fast one to get out of the fight because he knew he would lose.

 

Why? They were both long reigning champions who generally shunned America. Michalkzewskis win over Hill is one of the best wins at LHW ever.. the only man to have defeated Hill at the time was ATG Hearns in a SD.. no shame in that... when DM beat him he was on a 13 fight win streak and held the WBA & IBF titles.. Hill has wins over Maske, Stewart, Kinchen, Czyz, Tate, Tiozzo, Thadzi, Del valle etc.. Dariusz has every right to be considered a great of his division just like Monzon. I think Monzon was a greater fighter yes but but don't talk like Darius was some scrub because he wasn't, he's underrated.
