I didn't know Judah and Berto were from mixed martial arts backgrounds? I was under the impression with Berto at least that he had a good ametuer pedigree?
I would like to see him in there with quintanna, cintron, or zab. While it was a great fight, I doubt he would fight Collazo again. Not a good career move. Maybe not yet anyway. Clottey would be an excellent test for Berto.
If I was Berto's people I would challenge the PBF/JMM winner. (Throw a lil' feeler out see what happens/reaction) at the worst they could say no. Thus creating a "Feared" buzz. :good
Berto is a disgrace the WW division. Taking on 140lbers who have already been OUTBOXED by Ricky Hugman Hatton and not rematching the man who was robbbed. Berto will be killed the first time he fights a fellow WW belt holder.
The truth about Andre Berto is that he's such an unknown quantity and still not marketable enough so that the other so-called top, most experienced WWs want to face the risk of losing to him. Truth of the matter is that Berto has so much handspeed and punch authority that he can in fact beat any of these fighters even by a close margin like he did to Louie Collazo. Kermit Cintron has nothing more than Berto other than size and also a bit of heavier hands... Cintron would most probably struggle to outwork Berto and in the psychological department, he is far easier to dismantle than his opponent... I guess that Berto is ready for those unification fights and taking the winner of Cotto-Clottey to start with, not saying that he would win and neither am I saying that those other Champs would take him on right away.
It should be Collazo, but it wouldn't surprise me if his management took another step backward again and decided to face another beatable opponent the likes of Urango.
Don't be surprised if Berto fights this guy next. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=291719&cat=boxer
