I agree. If Bute beats Berrio, he should learn his trade some more against Braehmer/Inkin or/and against Lacy/Andrade, before he steps in against Kessler. Beyer I think would be too old, even for a fight early in 2008. This doesn't mean that KESSLER shouldn't go for Bute next, though! From Kessler's point of view, Bute should be next on his list (if he cannot beat Bhop next).
If Kessler beats Calzaghe, no one at SWM or under would beat him. And he would become favourite against Dawson too! But that doesn't mean that they shouldn't want to get into the ring with him. Of course they should!
1) I agree. 2) Bute needs a BIG win before facing Kessler: Mundine, Froch or Lacy. 3) As a Kessler fan I don't want him to face Dawson (high risk, little reward). If Dawson destroys Tarver (I think Green gets the job done) it could be high risk, high reward and thus make sense. 4) MONEY and recognition.
1):good 2) Yes...but we are not talking about what Bute needs or what would suit Bute best, but about what Kessler should do...and if Kessler calls out Bute and Bute ducks him, screw Bute! Kessler will have done the right thing. 3) As a Kessler fan, I think he should fight the best, win or lose...that includes Bute and Dawson. 4) Fighting Pavlik or Taylor would only gain him more recognition than fighting Bute or Dawson with people who are biased/who don't know much about boxing...so...why should he care about that kind of recognition. He should care about what the real fans care about. There is no way either Pavlik or Taylor could beat Kessler. Not even the Kessler that is beaten by Calzaghe. Yes, he would make more money fighting these two than Bute, say...much more money, but Kessler makes enough money as it is, and will continue to make a lot of money from now on anyway. He should worry about his legacy first and foremost, like he has so bravely done so far...and the money part will look after itself! :good
Man from what i hear he's sayin his eye is probly around 60% and that he will still continue fighting anyway.... the doctors are apparently sayin there not much chance his eye will return to full vision.. he seems pretty determind to return to the ring.... i think his eye is healin up enough for him to fight and he is just using " i'll continue to fight 1 eye'd" stuff to hype himself up and make some more $$$ on his next fight..... but i could be wrong
Thanks mate! All the best to Mundine. Hope he is back stronger than ever. He definitely has the tools to be a thread to anyone out there with the proper training and coach. Now with this eye-thing I just don't know if he's a serious thread to MK if MK wins on Nov. 3rd. I'm sure opponents would automatically go for the bad eye.
Well, I happen to think the guy has potential. The loss against Swine Ottke was first and foremost lame training+coaching. Against Kessler he did a decent job. With proper coaching and in better physical shape I'd like to see more of him.
