Lets discuss who Bute is most likely to fight in his very night fight.

According to what we know now Bute will most likely make the sixth defense of title on July 25th in Romania. So take this into consideration before naming an opponent. :D

Interbox also said Stieglitz turned down an offer to fight Bute (again). So I unless he changes his mind. A unification is not possible.

There is also a strong possibility that the winner of Bika-Brinkley will not be able to recover and be ready in time for a fight in July. There is less then 2 months between the Eliminator on May 28th and the fight in Romania on July 25th.

Also, most of the people currently ranked in the IBF top15 are unavailable.

1- Vacant (To be filled by the Bika-Brinkley winner)
2- Brinkley (Won first eliminator against Stevens, fighting Bika in May)
3- Abraham (Will drop because of his lost, stuck in the Super Six anyway)
4- Bika (Fighting Brinkley on May 28th)
5- Andrade (Fighting Lucas on May 28th and Bute KOed him)
6- Edison Miranda (Bute just got KOed)
7- Dirrell (Will go up but he's stuck in the Super Six)
8- Stevens (Just got humiliated by Brinkley)
    9- Sherington (Who?)
10- Mendy (Fighting Fernando Zuniga in June)
11- Balzsay (Lost his last 2 fights)
12- Zuniga (Bute just KOed him)
13- Magee (Fighting Dodson for the British title I think)
14- Tsyko (Hasn't fought since losing to Andrade a year ago)
    15- Pittman (Just got KOed)

    :patsch

Guess they're gonna have to look in the 160lbs ranking to find an opponent or hope someone decent suddenly appear in the IBF ranking.

An Hopkins fight is possible in the fall but I think it's impossible for July. Just not enough time for the negotiations not to mention Hopkins would probably refuse to fight in Romania.

Since he is not in the tournament he does not have that many options right now. He should just fight any smw in the top 15, and wait for the first 2 who fall out of the tournament. He has nothing to gain by beating up the old man, Hopkins.

    Hopkins will not fight Bute.
He just likes to be racist and talk **** for the publicity.
He has already beaten Bika once so that eliminator is worthless. Less he gets some prospect with a good record he might have to take a LHW fight.
    Dawson ?

Bute - Dawson could be good for both, but only if it takes place at SMW.

There is no reason for Bute to go up in weigth, as he is in a far deeper division than Dawson. If Dawson can make SMW (like he says he can) then this would be a great fight.

I have heard him and many others say he can.

Maybe that was only when he thought he was fighting Miranda... :rofl

So... for Bute... he suddenly cannot make 168, and feels he needs some weight advantage.

I definitely do not think Bute should be at all interested in going to 175 to fight Dawson. Why would he want that?

Would Mayweather from 154 go 8 pounds up and fight Ward at 162? I doubt it.

Fact is that Dawson is in a void division. Which is why he keeps fighting the same over and over. Noone in 168 has any incentive to move up as the division is VERY deep and once SS finishes all the fighters will need opponents, so there will be plenty of work for the other good fighters in the division.

Dawson should come to 168 (which Cash718 and many others claim he easily can), OR move to CW and eventually to HW. He beat Adamek, and I think Dawson would make a good HW.

Bhop called out Bute already and he seems to be the obvious choice for Bute who doesn´t have many other options. Don´t think the fight will be very competitive though Bute is too good for Hopkins who doesn´t have alot left in his tank.

Bute-Hopkins would be good too, and it would answer a lot of questions about both.

Bute is a good fighter, but he is still rather green, so perhaps Hopkins has a few things Bute hasn't seen. Would be a good fight.. well, not really a good fight (because no Hopkins fight really is..) but interesting.

We're trying to find out who Bute will fight in his very next fight. It won't be Hopkins.

got a feeling the Hopkins fight will happen in Montreal, which he will win as Hopkins is done.

then he is a big name. HBO would allow him his mandatory, and by that point 4 fighters will be out of the Super 6.
