Lucian looked shocked when they said Martinez was up 4-0. It shouldn't have been 4-0. Pavlik won the 3rd, lost the 4th, and then pretty much took over the fight until he got cut. We're talking lacerated! It took 30 stitches to close the cuts around his eyes. He has a rematch clause, and I think he'll excercise it. It's a very winnable fight. Best case scenario would be for Lucian to handle his mandatory while KP deals with Martinez, and then go from there.

It`s not up to him and you know it, laffie.Of course he is sentimental but here is no place for sentiments, in the arrangements of the fights.
In fact, Bedard has mentioned in the afterfight comments that this is ONE of the possibilities.Of course, is the most probable, but they expect that real call from Hopkins which will not probably come, cause Hops is aware now he could end his career KO`ed and noone from US wants that.

So, why Romania?Laffie, how many spectators would make a match in Montreal in summer and with a C level opponent? You teel me.Probably not even 8000 at reasonable prices (smaller) and not even 6000 at the cuurent prices.

Now you have the picure.Bedard KNOWS THAT IN THIS CASE ROMANIA IS MORE PROFITABLE,, if he sells here 12.000 tickets at minimum let`s say.

Why they didn`t show declared interes in a possible confrontation with Hops? This is the way of getting the maximum.

So, there is still open this gate, but is very less probable.

When was the last time there was a profitable boxing card in Romania? All the ones I've seen in the last couple of years either had barely anyone showing up for the fight or they had to give away thousands of tickets for free to fill a 3000-4000 seat venue.

I realize Bute is immensely popular in Romania now but so far it hasn't been proven that a profitable event can be made over there. If Bute fights in Romania it won't be interbox who will take the financial risk. I can guarantee that.

They didn't get a good promotion. If K1 fights are profitable in Romania then why not boxing?

Diaconu made 4000 + in Romania . Bute is huge compare to Diaconu. The match will probably be held on the Steaua Stadium capacity around 28 000. Town Bucharest population 2 mil ppl. + the ppl that will come from all over the country. I'm not from Bucharest and I'll will attend the match.12 000 at least is a safe thing to say. I'm thinking over 16 000

Wasn't it that fight that the mayor of the town bought all the tickets and gave them out for free? Or was it a JoJo Dan fight? Can't remember. It's been a while. :rofl

Crazy wild idea for Bute's next opponent.... drum roll .... Zsolt Erdei!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy could try to add a 168lbs title to his collection of 175lbs and 200lbs titles. :D

Before you call me crazy. I'm sure Erdei could easily make the weight. He's always been a small light heavyweight. Hell he was only 178lbs for his last fight at cruiserweight. Which probably mean that's his fight weight. I don't see why he couldn't make 168lbs and then gain back the 10lbs for the fight.

Dorin vs Balbi II had an attendance of 8 000 spectators in a gym with normal capacity of 6 000 and a maximum of 8 000.

I admit the part with who takes the financial risk:it will be the Romanian authorities.

But, when was Bute In Romania like a champion? And finally, when did he fight as a pro?Once, in 2004, much before being champion, maybe before being continental one.

Now, when the president of RBF speaks about a fight on a stadium, even a smaller one (12-15000 places) you could catch the idea.

That match was in Galati, a town of 300.000 inhabitants with smaller revenue and big unemployment rate.

We talk now about Bucharest, a city more than twice bigger than Montreal in terms of population, capital of an EU member country.

Maxime, resume at what you know, no offense.

But, of course coudn`t be a real profit. The question is:In that conditions would be in Montreal?

I seriously doubt it, as well as I doubt the sentimentalism of Bedard. It`a always about profit in present and future at this level.Let`s be mature.

One more argument for you:Jo Jo Dan obtained a great victory in 10th In Romania some days before this fight and Interbox didn`t bother to even announce it on their site.It had to ask that to their press responsable by email to do it.Where is the sentimentalism?I even told Messier:What, only the money that brings Bute counts for you? Jo Jo is at a step of a world belt and had 26-0-0 first.
