If marquez is this masterful boxer you think he is,then why is he always lured into a fight?

He's been doing this late in his career actually..

If you watch his earlier fights, he was more of a safety first fighter.

Styles do make fights and not taking anything away from Garcia but basing your prediction off of that one left he landed on khan is kinda crazy. I would rather make comparisons off the Morales fight. My opinion is if Garcia don't ko Marquez then Marquez wins late tko or ud. How does.Garcia beat jmm if he does not ko him? I think broner has a way better chance of beating jmm then.Garcia.

People are overrating Garcia based on his performance with Kahn. Also Kahn's reaction to the punch makes Garcia look more powerful than he is. The Morales fight is a better indicator of his skills. Based on that and if Marquez has gotten old overnight I see a win by Ud or late Tko for Marquez.

I Love Bogo so true... DG and Bradley would be easy to outbox since they aren't agressive volume punchers that bother JMM like PAC 1/ DIaz/Kats But if DG does catch JMM his recuperative skills may just be tested again

    A few reasons.

    1. He needed to break out of a pure counter-punching mold to get the attention of fans and networks.
    2. If he can afford to take an opponent's shots, he'll make it an exciting fight for the fans because that's what Mexican boxing culture appreciates.
    3. He sometimes becomes over-confident after he times a fighter, and can rush forward without bringing his guard and feet under him correctly.
    4. Many times, the fight can look like a brawl, when JMM is really rolling shots in the pocket (Katsidis barely landed anything clean after the 3rd round KD.)

In any case, he's skilled enough to time and trade shots with Bradley, and would probably survive exchanging with Garcia's looping shots as well.

I agree. Morales confused Garcia on the outside with efficient foot placement, control of distance, and neutralizing his jab with an overhand right while falling in on the inside. Marquez has this own version of this, thrown more looped and from a lower position with more torque and power. He usually follows it up with a trademark combination full of uppercuts. I do see a danger in him becoming overconfident and eating a shot that puts him down, but he'd be wary of his power and likely pick him apart much worse than a faded Morales did for half of their fight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised for Marquez to stop him. Again, assuming he hasn't aged significantly since Manny or Fedchenko.

    Either Garcia or Khan.

    He beats both fairly easily.

I think Marquez is able to make adjustments mid-fight and exploit oppoenents very well.

Also, he's tough, quick and is a good volume puncher.

If you can't KO him, you had better be able to outwork him or outbox him.

I don't see Bradley, Khan or anyone else at 135 or 140 doing any of those things.

Broner is inexperienced and while I could see him catching JMM with some punches, I could see Marquez figuring him out and surviving...probably winning the decision with good counters and lateral movement.

How about Malignaggi at 147? Paulie has the 147 WBA strap now...
