Apparently, Martinez has come out to say he's staying at 154lbs.

I guess that means he's out as far as an opponent for Pavlik.

Sturm just signed a big tv contract in Germany and he's way out of shape. Another name out?

Who's left? Winky Wright? Lucian Bute? Anyone else?

    Anyone heard anything?

Martinez said he wants to keep his WBC belt @ 154 but he specifically said he would go up for a fight with Pavlik anyways.

Yeah, you're right. Guys have juggled weight classes before......just means he won't let himself be stripped of his 154 belt.

Martinez can't keep his WBC belt at 154lbs if he fights for the WBC belt at 160lbs.

Yeah but I doubt any of these fights will get made. The only likely one to me is a bout against Martinez. Williams was cut pretty bad and negotiations between Arum and Goossen will be hard since they have been at each other's throat. Sturm seems to be locked up with that 10 fight deal with Universum...so unless Arum would want to give television profits to Sturm this fight won't get made. Hopefully he will fight someone who is good besides bums like espino and rubio.

Agreed. I'm still holding out hope that Williams can get done..... I don't understand why he wants to go back to 147. He won't get many fights down there...... been there, done that......no?

Yeah he's done there..he needs to realize he is a 154lb or 160lb fighter....and if he chooses to go to 168 like he's mentioned in the past he needs to improve his defense and learn to fight tall or he'll get KTFO
