One good win out of forty does not a resume make, Ortiz is an excellent step in the right direction but he could still do with another top ten name in the meantime if the Joshua fight has to wait. Pulev or Miller, one of whom is likely to be IBF mandatory fairly soon would be ideal, or he could ask the WBC to order its own mandatory (maybe the winner of Browne vs. Whyte?) to prevent a backlog of them potentially getting the eventual undisputed champion stripped of a belt.

Chances are it will be Breazeale or Martin though, which is probably the worst case scenario IMO.

Bronco Billy and Fujimoto have been waiting in line long enough for their shot!

Hopefully someone decent. He has fought so many nobodies his entire career.

After Ortiz, and now up to FORTY pro fights, he needs to now go ahead and fight the -second- legit threat to his title. LOL

What a “title reign” this clown is having. LOL

I could see Lucas Browne beating Dillian Whyte and I could see Johann Duhaupas beating Jarrell Miller.

Both would be upsets. But, if they happened, I'd be like "Of course they lost to those guys." It's not like Whyte or Miller are lighting the world on fire.

Whyte and Miller are just "guys." So are Duhauaps and Browne at this point.

If Browne is capable of fighting like he did against Chagaev, he'll beat Whyte pretty handily. But Browne is the biggest mystery of all of them.

Miller got ran out of the gym by Stiverne and didn't come back. I think Miller will fold and go home the first time someone hurts him.

This is exactly what would happen. But who cares, its the best fight and unbiased or less biased boxing fans would give him credit.

Well Joshua would be the best fight, but I think you mean Povetkin is the best available fight.

Well, I don't see that there's a real logical reason that it can't be AJ. But obviously that's going to be dragged out for as long as possible. Whyte-Browne is for the silver title, right? I'm OK with that now. Pov will likely be in against AJ after the Parker fight. Miller would be a pretty cool option if not

I think we argued last year about whether Wilder should have an Ortiz level fight before facing AJ. Not busting your balls, just genuinely curious, do you still think they should have fought immediately, or are you glad this tournament style matchup happened first?

Hopefully you can at least see my point now; personally, I'm much more interested in AJ Wilder now than I was before. If its held in Vegas I'll probably buy tickets and make a trip out to see it in person. No way would I have thought the fight was worth that if Wilder hadn't proven what kind of a champ he was against Ortiz first.

Breazeale is a quitter. Mentally quits a fight after being hit hard once. He was sooo anxious vs Joshua, OMFG, should have never went in the ring with him. First grade quitter mentality.
He is also relatively slow and easy to hit. Would be a typical Wilder opponent as he would win this with a TKO in the mid/late rounds.

Hoping the winner of AJ/Parker. That being said, congrats to wilder on showing some resilience in his big win! Happy for the big guy!

Whyte/Browne winner would be ideal. Gut instinct is that it's going to be Breazeale or Martin though. Would prefer if it were the former as he's tough and of course the two have history that could be used as a means of hyping the fight.

David Price could be the elephant in the ring
