The attributes that put Golovkin in favor of Canelo, IMO, are the following:

    - footwork
    - ability to cut ring
    - positioning
    - jab
    - timing
    - counterpunching
    - power

These are some reasons. This doesn't include ring IQ, which is something that Golovkin has a lot of. He's not a monster. He won't go in there arms flailing. He's extremely calculating that'll adjust to his opponents- similar to Mayweather- who just happens to also have devastating power.

Somehow I have a feeling that all of the attributes that you listed that they claim to not see in GGG would be more than evident in a fighter who happened to born here. People only see what they want to see sometimes.

Ward and that's one of the reasons why they're not in a hurry to fight him.

Yup. Such a shame. Golovkin may not be great (he could be, we have yet see), but he's definitely special. People should appreciate that because it's not something that comes very often.

Half the things you mentioned I mentioned cutting off the ring requires good footwork. And positioning is the same as footwork and punch placement, he's not a better counter puncher watching both of them.

GGG is more of a stalker with some quality attributes Alvarez is more of a boxer counter puncher.

Man GTFOH while I agree racism is real as well as nationalism, I like fighters from all walks. Hell even GGG I maybe critical of him as a fighter due to his overhyping I enjoy him as well.

The simple matter is Broner who I don't like has done more in the sport if boxing than GGG yet you won't find anyone who'll call him an ATG yet GGG is based off what exactly?

Hell I talk **** about Rignondeux but he's actually proven himself vs top level guy's.

To me I don't care who you are or where your from if you do something worth giving credit for I give it.

Chill out I wasn't really referring to you specifically. Although in retrospect it seems like it.

Canelo can't cut the ring for the life of him. But, that doesn't matter because he'll be the one on the back-foot regardless.

Golovkin picks his punches perfectly. Perhaps another reason why he's such a devastating puncher. It's not just the power, but the placement of his punches.

Golovkin is not a stalker. He is a boxer, and a dang good one. I just don't see how Canelo can win this. GGG will be able to take Canelo's firepower. I don't see Canelo taking GGG's.

In my opinion there is NO ONE!! at 160 & below that could seriously challenge GGG. I may be wrong but until someone steps up & challenges him
I'll stick with it. It makes me laugh at you Cotto fanatics that claim he is not a real middleweight. He calls himself the LINEAL WORLD MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION & getting a huge purse to defend that title against Canelo. If this is true he is a fake champion. All I can say is Mr Pretty in Pink must be doing something right for him to keep getting these big $$$ fights

Canelo is great I'm a big fan of his and defend him vigorously, I thought he beat Lara fair and square, but the idea he is a devastating puncher is a complete fallacy, he had a punching in front of him with Angulo and he couldn't legitimately KO him, he never really hurt Lara like Angulo did, he didn't hurt Hatton when Kell Brook dropped him, he never really hurt Mosley whereas Manny and Floyd had Shane afraid to throw a punch, he KO'd Kirkland......because Kirkland is packing very fragile glass.

He does not have the power to keep GGG off of him and anyone who thinks Cotto or Canelo stand a chance against GGG are crazy as hell. Lemieux KO's them as well IMO.

My bad bro if it came off as me being a ****, no harm just a good debate which is what we're here for.

Honestly though if any country doesn't care about race at least as far as sports or stars is concerned its America nobody from America is from America.

It's interesting though no other nation gets bashed for backing its fighters.

I can see some of your points I think it ends up being a close fight. I think defensively Alvarez is severely underrated he is very good at slipping and blocking shot's.

Like I said power is a overrated attribute if your opponent is good enough to avade your shots or is quicker to the trigger than you power is easily nullified.

GGG hasn't fought anyone as explosive as Alvarez so saying he can walk through anything he throws would be a gross under estimation.

The stalker comment is more in comparasion to each other not an overall description of Gennandy's style.

I think someone brought up the Angulo fight after the first solid shot Canelo landed known tough guy Angulo became timid for the next few rds, its all about giving your opponent something to worry about.

Mayweather isn't a hard punch but has gained almost everyone he's foughts respect because he has the power to keep em honest.

    Yup, yup! :good

It'll still be a great fight though. What do you think will be the ending? Canelo ko'ed unconscious, Canelo quits on his knee, ref stops fight, or corner stops fight?

Most UK fans are on the Khan bandwagon and he's the most overrated/delusional guy out right now so that is understandable.
