Who's opinion means more, a BoxRec addict or a gym rat?

Gym rats see it up close, but if they're not spread around at different locations, it's easy to be biased and one-sided. Styles make fights but gym rats sometimes have their ears down on the tracks, and hear some periodic inside scoops.

No... I usually spend time at Gyms talking to trainers and fighters. Generally speaking trainers and certain fighters know more.

Boom Boom please you don't know squat yourself and who the hell is Tays?

It depends. The question is a bit loaded with the boxrec scenerio and its negative implications.
I would say if I want to know about the nuances that go on in a fighter's physical readiness or state of health then the gym rat. If I want to know more about the stories and the histories, stats, and strategy then the scholar.
In reality I want both sides. I can learn a lot from the scholar as well as the athlete. I love hearing pro boxers analyze a fight but let's face it, some are a lot better than others. I couldn't give a **** what DLH has to say about a fighter but I love to hear Barrera dissect the fights.

Yey i use to know quite a few people, but i trained at Hollenback which is close to ressurrection. That was Oscars gym (ressurection) he used to go to Hollenback sometimes. Who was it that you talked too?

Are you talking on the Radio and thru Johnny and them, or thru boxing at the gyms?

Hey Anarci, did you ever spar anyone that later went professional. Why didn't you follow through with it?

Gym rat. BoxRec isn't always reliable but a gym rat is as they've seen many styles and know a hell lot about boxing. They're really students of the game.

How is a boxrec junkie going to be able to analyze styles? That requires film study. A gym rat will see this generally more, even experience it. I'll go with him.
