Groves gasses and sits on the ropes too much. Eubank late stoppage

I dont know guys.... Groves just looks too big. I am not sure Eubank is used to the feeling he will have in there of being the smaller man. Being the smaller man can mean a lot when the bigger guy is more experienced, you arent used to it, and you dont have the style or power to compensate.

Still don't know if Jr has inherited his old man's chin, but if Groves lands the same shots Spike O'Sullivan and Quinlan got off on Jr he's hitting the deck IMO
his other recent fights Abraham and the Turk seriously **** or over the hill opponents don't tell us much.
Groves can't keep up with Jr's engine though, still have him via stoppage

Picking Jr but rooting for Groves. There are two types of guys I just can't stand: those who think they are hot **** with no basis (e.g. Dillon Whyte, Deontay Wilder) and smug posers (e.g. Eubank, Deontay Wilder).

groves looks past his prime, jr has just come into his, that being said if groves is in shape and is sharp then he should win in a very close fight

I really liked how groves was timing froch and can see him doing similar to jr

Groves is significantly bigger. But Groves doesn't fight like a big man, he crouches quite low, feet wide apart, while Eubank is more upright, feet closer together with his centre of gravity higher, so there won't be as a noticeable height advantage in the ring as out of it.

Groves also isn't a physical fighter. He doesn't clinch or lean down on guys, maul or physically manhandle guys in close. He either tucks up defensively or fights fire with fire and unloads, neither of which is a great idea vs CEJ unless he can hurt CEJ or match him for work rate.

So I don't think his height and weight advantage will be an issue. But this should be a good, close fought fight, while I favour CEJ, I don't think for one second this will be easy, he will get chin checked, Groves is too accurate and hits too hard, nobody has an easy night with Groves.

Hmmm. Jr looks bigger than Sr and Sr was a good SMW but I'm of the same thinking.... I want Groves too lose but I'm not convinced Jr is big enough.

I'm picking Groves here. Surprised as many people in this thread are, too. I do agree his stamina is lacking and bouts of laziness/wtf are you doing moments happen but I'm still taking him... The 168 tourney here wasn't actually as awful as I was thinking when announced. But what a poor state that division is in right now, wow.

I was of the opinion it might be the right time for Jnr, groves doesn't look the same ever since Froch 1. However seeing them come face to face, I was very surprised at the size difference, and feel he might be too big and strong for Jnr, plus coupled with his punch he has a chance to stop him at anytime if he doesn't tire. Eubank will have to beat him up to win, not with 1 punch like Groves has in his locker...So after really scrutinising the fight, and weighing up both sides, I still haven't a clue. Gun to my head, Groves, but hes worn a bit !

Groves has experience. He was in CEJ place before and found out the hard way. Eubanks can’t be complacent.

I think its Snr's character that people have a problem with, he truly is horrible, completely ****ed in the head. How people thought asking Jnr to go the body against Blackwell to save him is beyond me, he is as cold as they come. Jnr I think isn't a bad person underneath it all, just smarmy and irritating !

just watched the eubank jr/yildirim fight, I know its not much to go on but I thought jr's jab had really improved in that fight, its a real weapon now. will be interesting to see groves trying to get past that

Not me, Eubank is gonna survive the first half of the fight and overwhelm Groves later on.
