In all honesty I'm not the best person to lend my 2 cents....but since you ask... Roach may not have the kind of resume as a trainer that Nacho has where he cultivates young fighters into champions...but fighters who have worked with Roach have all given him high praise and marks as a trainer. From James Toney to Mike Tyson and of course the more recent stars Roach handles...they've all said that Roach is either THE BEST or ONE of the best trainers in the game. Again...I've boxed...I've been trained and I love the sport...but no matter what my opinion of Roach, it's never going to mean more than professional boxers and world champions who have actually worked with him. I'd say he deserves the credit....Nacho does as well but if you think about it...Naz Richardson at some point was getting more recognition than Nacho. And even Floyd Sr was too....so its unfortunate to say that Nacho isn't getting his just dues but to say he should be held in higher regard than Freddie...well...that's debatable.
salaam akhs.. The Judah fight gave some impression but in my books not enough. I hope in the next bout Khan improves massively! I believe he will.
Khan showed significant improvement in the Judah fight compared to even last year I think. He was throwing some nice shots inside, and he seemed a lot more relaxed in there, sitting down on his punches more and not over reaching as much.
then why did they leave him ? i really think his disease keeps people from saying the truth about him a lot of times...really
True, but Judah was seen as a very live underdog going into the fight, and he has similar defensive traits to McCloskey, as well as being more proven at a world level. Zab also hits just as hard as Maidana according to a lot of people here (though I think they're wrong).
Wa'alaikum salaam brah. Yeah, the Judah fight showed he's come a long way since that Prescott defeat. Still one or two things that he does wrong, but ey, noone's perfect. By the way, Eid Mubarak!
you're talking to me bro, i was never a believer of zabs hype....i knew he would get crushed, and crushed bad....people were saying he was a live underdog cause of khans flaws, not zabs ability :good
Not sure.... But I've heard roach is no nonsense..... We all know James and Mike march to their own drums and not the easiest to work with. So it says a lot the even as they parted ways.... They still had only positive things to say and the praise directly addressed his ability and knowledge as a trainer. Why they split? Who knows but roach has been brutally honest about how he feels with his fighters. He was upset about Toneys weight and tyson taking training seriously... So they could have parted for any number of reasons. His disease doesn't affect his education and history with a truly great trainer in futch... Who took freddie under his wing and taught him to be a trainer. I think his disease is a shame but hasn't affected his ability to reach and train boxers at the highest levels. His resume has a lot of depth.
you're not serious are you? khan sucked before roach he used to brawl like crazy and go all out of stance and everything. watch khan vs gomez/limond etc then watch khan vs kotelnik.
