Who's record/resume would you prefer to have, Floyds or Mannys?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by ThereIsOnlyOne, Jun 30, 2012.

  1. Sorry another Floyd Manny thread but I am interested to see the forum opinion.
If you were the boxer and you had to retire today. Who's record/resume would you prefer to go out with. Floyds or Manny's?
For me, Manny has the better names and wins, Floyd has a very underrated resume imo though and also is undefeated.
Be interesting to see who chooses resume over record.
For myself, i'd go for Floyds living happy with remaining undefeated but always the niggle that I should have more and better scalps on my record.
    Board?

    Ignorance is bliss.

I'd rather have the dude who Fcked up Margarito
    TKO'd Cotto
    & KO'd Hatton in 2 rounds

Why didn't Mayweather fight Margarito again? afraid he'd get walked down for a full 12 rounds?

    Resume problems:

Mayweather has a win where he should have a loss (Castillo)

Pacquiao has a win where he should have a loss (Marquez) and also a loss where he should have a win (Bradley)

To sum up honestly... I don't really give a sh*t.
Two of the greatest fighters in an era who failed to fight each other... now falling out of their prime... sad really.

and here is a good example of it.

Listing beating margo(e), who was a nobody by that time time and in a weight he accomplished nothing at, as some sort of achievement.

    Small dude vs Big dude.

That's what I see it as.

Beating anybody who has some sort of advantage over you is an achievement in boxing - albiet not the best achievement

    Floyd's Resume:
    *Longevity, consistency, and reliability
    *GOAT at 130
*The "names" he faced had their stocks rising at the time he fought them
*140 left much to be desired

    emmanuel's Resume:
    *Was able to face Tijuana
*Has more "names" on his resume, many of who were going through rough times right before emmanuel faced them.
*Conquered and Mexecuted by Juan. Couldn't ever crack the Juan code despite 3 attempts.
*Lost a few times, once brutally knocked out
*7 division champ. I don't count the belt won from fighting margo(e) due to the circumstances surrounding it.

Fact-Floyd has fought higher ranked opponents throughout his career. Floyd doesn't fight guys out of the top 3 in a division and/or top 10 in the world.

Manny fought #6 Clottey, #6 Mosley, and an unranked Margarito.

Manny got dominated by the #5 pound 4 pound fighter Marquez too.

He never took a major title at 126 either.

MAB did not have a major title at 126 when Manny fought him. So factually, he didn't take a title at 126.
