As already stated, Froch is nowhere near as defensively clever as GGG and got hit flush and far more often by some pretty huge and powerful 168 Ibers. The likes of Groves, Kessler, Bute and I'd argue Taylor could crack a good deal harder than anyone GGG has had to face. Froch can't even ride a shot particularly and against Groves, Kessler and Pascal was often engaged in a swing for the fences and see who lands hardest slugfest.

GGG has never allowed himself to get that involved in engaging with an opponent except for with Brook and then only briefly.

So for me, Froch's chin is the only one genuinely tested out the two so until GGG's is truly nailed by a genuinely elite power puncher, I'm going with Froch

Froch one of the best chins of this era. Don’t think GGG would get up from that right hand Groves landed in the first fight.

Prime Groves had more legit KO power than GGG, different kind of puncher though. GGG comes forward and bludgeons you, Groves was a world class counterpuncher with the ability to land huge shots you don’t see coming. There’s no way GGG could knock Froch down like Groves did in that first fight.

Froch took on much better punchers and bigger opponents. The only punchers his size GGG has fought are Lemieux and Jacobs, and Jacobs isn’t really even a huge puncher. The other two punchers GGG faced were smaller men. Groves, Kessler, Bute, Abraham all hit way harder than anyone he’s fought.

Are we talking h2h or p4p

Prime Froch would have koed any version of GGG.

Current Froch also Kos current GGG.

Froch is a very big supermiddle (despite the claims otherwise). GGG is a little undersized in comparison.

P4P is a different argument, GGG could possibly have the better chin p4p but not h2h

Ward would have koed GGG and didnt dent Froch

Wow...you predict a big SprMw would KO an undersized MW (Who was a HUGE MW according to your garbage a little while back BTW).

We all know what Froch had to say about a fight w/ 3G.

Jermaine Taylor was certainly a very flawed fighter but he was also an incredibly gifted fighter and his skills are very underrated. In his prime his explosiveness reminded me of Jean Pascal and Kendall Holt. To casual observers those guys wouldnt be considered punch ers but in reality when any one of the three sat down, loaded up on, and launched a shot, they could bomb and bang with anybody. Even Andre Dirrell, he was so fast and explosive and because of that he could catch you without you seeing and dump some tough guys on their ass. And when Dirrell actually built up the courage to throw fire and sit on his shots, with his speed, explosiveness, leverage, and strength he could drop serious ordinance as well. Look at Andre's brother Anthony -- much higher KO% and considered a bigger puncher than Andre because he actually planted, sat, loaded, and fired heaters. But Anthony didnt have the overall speed and explosiveness that Andre had, so in reality when Andre really wanted to he DEFINITELY could bang harder than Anthony.

Everyone mentions the usual suspects in regards to the big punchers Froch faced, but the totally forget about Taylor and Dirrell who 100% could bomb with anyone at that weight when they wanted to. Taylor is actually one of the guys who dropped Froch, and he also sent Pavlik the wrong way down a one way street, and iirc, Dirrell had Froch on some rubbery legs for a moment or two. And none of this is meant as a slight to Froch or his chin, its meant to reinforce how great a chin he had. GGG has never caught a shot from anyone anywhere near as hard as Froch was by Taylor and Dirrell. And they had the speed and explosiveness to possibly catch GGG flush. If they did, im not so sure how GGG would take it and would lean towards GGG personally meeting the canvas and trying to convince the ref hes good by the count of 8.

Not only did Froch face a number of big punchers, but he faced a variety of different types of big punchers and ALWAYS came through. Thats pretty special in retrospect.

GGG is a huge middleweight but would not be big at supermiddle at all. A huge middle is still smallish vs a very big super middle.

The jump between the divisions is a full 8lbs

Like Kell Brook 147/154, they are basically caught between divisions.

GGG has proven to be a much more dedicated bloke and has managed to boil down longer than Brook though.

    Nah.

He could punch but no way did he have elite power.

Dirrell and Kessler buckled Froch remember and he admits Bute hurt him.

Froch was insanely tough but it’s GGG for me.He has never shown chinks.

Froch’s chin is more proven without a doubt. He has taken shots from higher level punchers and beat them..

We cant say the same about GG.

Who voted for Froch? Golovkin clearly has a better chin.

Froch got dropped by Jermain Taylor. Golovkin has walked through flush shots from Saul Alvarez, David Lemieux, Curtis Stevens, and Daniel Jacobs. All guys viewed as being bigger punchers than Jermain Taylor.

GGG for me, he's never been down or seriously hurt as a pro.
