Its called promoting a fight, remember when he snapped Tito's flag, that stunt right there got more people to watch the fight. Tyson's been doing it for years, If it wasnt for Tyson's hyping the fight with Lewis' it would of never been as big as it was.

I hear what your saying, but how many fighters have you heard call another fighter a *** or another name that might offend someone? If thats what sells tickets and puts more money in your pocket, by all means do it. Calzaghe doesnt care he said that, all that does is get more people to watch it on PPV.

I understand. But there are many other ways to promote a fight and I thought it was low and uncalled for. I wanted Joe to win anyway.

Fair enough, nothing sells like a white fighter fighting a black fighter, it doesnt matter to me, but the average fan will flock because of it. Hopkins is a good promoter, its no different than what he did to Tito's flag over 6 years ago, he offended alot of people when he did that, more people bought the fight just to see Hopkins get his ass beat, its the same thing here.

 

I can see that it is a good promotional tool. However, racisim is not the same as knocking over a flag e.g. "I would never let a black man beat me, I would never loose to a black person" I would be equally as disgrunteld about that.

Racism should not be tolerated by anybody in any form.

 

Can you imagine the outcry if Joe said 'I'd never lose to a black man'
