How come? dont just name a name, I would have put a poll up if I cared purely for who more people think for.

Marvis had some nice wins over James Broad, Joe Bugner, James Tillis, Jose Ribalta, Bonecrusher Smith.

    Bonecrusher was the WBA champ.

And I think if the WBO had been around he could of won that, and with the right managment he could of won a world title.

As for Buster, A nice win over Tyrell Biggs for the USBA defended it Twice, before the KO loss to Lou Savarese, if Buster won that maybe he would have got the Foreman fight?

Well I think you'd have to say Frazier, as he clearly had a better resume than Mathis Jr who's best win was what? Tyrell Biggs?

Like you said, Bonecrusher, Ribalta, Bugner and Tillis aren't great names but they were all decent, relevant fighters and Mathis just can't match that.

I don't think they're that far apart ability wise though, Mathis was a neat (though limited) fighter. And he certainly put up a better showing against an albeit lesser but still excellent Mike Tyson.
