I'm asking this not as a hate thread but because I've always felt (since Kessler fought Siaca) that Kessler's biggest weakness is that he is not a good counterpuncher. Also Lacy was not a counterpuncher at all. Hopkins, however, is a great counterpuncher.

Hence the question. Whose the best counterpuncher on Joe C's resume.

I don't know much about his competition that hasn't been well discussed, but surely out of all those fights there had to be a good one or two in there.

I def. agree with you that Bernard, if nothing else, can counter punch with the best of them. That's why we have seen him in long staredowns in the ring, he wants to let you make your first move, then he'll react.

Probably David Starie, or Tocker Podwill. Or even Manfredo.

I havent seen all of Calzaghe's fights so I couldnt say for sure who
but i am sure that Hopkins will be by far the best counterpuncher
    Joe has fought.

I would like to know more about Tocker Pudwill. Obviously his name is funny but I've often wondered how he got his title shot at Joe. He had won some fights, but the last couple wins (according to boxrec ((which I know CAN be very incorrect)) his wins were against dudes that had lost their last 5-6 staight. Was he a replacement?? How the hell did he get his shot??

I thought Manfredo did a magnificent job at counting punches in his fight with Calzaghe, or have I got my definitions all ****ed up again :huh

Calzaghe is very fast but he does have a tendancy to leave himself open when he is on the offensive, especially at mid-range.
