Its Marquez by a long shot. Yes they both get hit but Marquez can counterpunch unlike pacquiao. Plus Marquez has fought alot harder competiton his last 5 fights then Pacquiao has so the stats are misleading

 

Last 5 fights for JMM: Ramos, Katsidis, Diaz, Mayweather, Diaz

Last 5 fights for Pacquiao: Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, Hatton

Mayweather's the best fighter of the 10 fights easily, but Katsidis and Diaz (and especially Ramos) aren't better than Miguel Cotto or more dangerous at the time than a 165-170 pound Antonio Margarito. Clottey was coming offf of a arguable win vs. Cotto, so to say Marquez has fought much better competition is laughable.

And the counterpunching advantage to Marquez has nothing to do with the question. It's strictly defense and Pacquiao, with his reflexes and legs, gets hit less than Marquez. Marquez might have more textbook defensive moves, but he doesn't have a better defense than Pacquiao. His defense looked downright mediocre against Katsidis and Juan Diaz. There were times when he'd be on the ropes for stretches and get hit with just about everything.

 

Because Pacquiao HASN'T FOUGHT ANYBODY!!! Clottey only threw 5 punches a round!! Same thing with Mosley. Marquez stats would be alot better if he had those 2 fights under his belt. but hes fighting warriors like katsids and Diaz, of course his stats arent gonna look as good

Not its not laughable that Marquez hasnt fought better competiton. Clottey lost to Cotto and Pacquiao fought him after that. Margarito shouldnt even had got the fight and is punching bag.

I'll say it again. Pacquiao hasnt fought anybody that JMM has. Margarito has wide and slow ass punches, of course Pacquiao stats are gonna look good. Mosley didnt fight back so of course pacquiao stats are gonna look good. and Clottey threw 5 punches a round so Of course Pac stats are gonna look better then Marquez.

 

Why is that?? If Pacquaio fought Katsidis you would see how often he gets hit. how can you compare Marquez-Katsidis fight to Pac-Mosley??? Mosley ran for 12 rounds so Of course Pacquiao looks like a defensive wizard

If Marquez was such a good defensive fighter why is his ass on the canvas every damn big fight?

He's a fine counterpuncher, but he trades, and trades alot. And more often than not, ass on the canvas (though he comes back to win many times)

Protip: Pacquiao can counterpunch too. It's just that more often than not, he'd rather initiate the action

Who was Katsidis that everyone thinks that's a good Marquez win? The guy is there to be hit and already stopped by old Casamayor and beaten buy Juan Diaz. Katsidis is like a poor man's Gatti, a worse version. At least Gatti could pick up straps.

Better yet switch the names between the two fighters and everyone will be saying Marquez resume is Godworthy beating DLH, Cotto, Hatton, Clottey Margarito and Mosley while Pac played it safe at 135 fighting bums and then lost to Floyd.

 

Katsidis = grade a bum already stopped by old Casamayor that everyone hypes just because he's exciting. He's a worse version of Gatti. Pac would've humiliated him and you would be complaining that he's another come forward brawler whose career was ended by Pac. He's worse than Margarito. At least Marg was able to be the recognized champion in his divison in his career.
