How the hell JMM is winning this poll? Let's face it, Manny may not be as technical and fundamentally sound as JMM is, but he's a much better underrated defensive Boxer than JMM. I think a prime JMM might have been better, but we can't tell for sure.

Prime JMM was a great defensive fighter, and people exaggerate the amount that he gets hit in exchanges. Watch the middle rounds of Diaz or Katsidis; he's rolling and slipping a good majority of the shots that land, even with his age and more aggressive approach. Hitting him more than twice in a row (if that) is a very difficult task.

Their whole careers considered, the best version of JMM is more defensively sound than the best version of Pacquiao, but it is pretty close.

If Pac fought Katsidis, he takes Kat out way sooner then JMM did, doesn't ge dropped either.

Neither fighter has good defense, although it is pretty unbearable when people make out Marquez to be some kind of defensive master.

I would say the last 3-4 years, it's Pacquiao.

I'm Pacquiao fan too fool!! I'm was saying stat wise. People wanna pull out stats but its easy for Pacs stats to look good when Clottey and Mosley dont swing and Diaz-Katsidis swing for the fences. Of course Pacquiao would get Katsidis out of there in 3 rounds, I know that. but you can tell me pacquiao stats are not some what false because he fought some guys that didnt wanna fight.

The last time pacquiao actually fought somebody good it was JMM and you see how jacked up pacquiaos face was right??? Rest my case

How did JMM won this poll? The numbers don't lie. JMM gets hit more so than Manny gets hit.

If you voted for marquez i guess you didnt see his last few fights. LMAO Pac just beat clottey, cotto, mosley, margarito, de la hoya, hatton.....and got hit less in those 6 fights then marquez got hit against diaz or katsidas......6 fights to 1. Pac is gonna knock marquez out something savage come fight time.

Marquez is past his prime and taking on relatively stronger opposition, and is still proving hard to hit more than twice in a row (if you actually watch the fights closely instead of simply highlights) against younger, bigger, faster guys. The best version of Marquez had better defensive footwork and upper body movement than the best version of Pacquiao, but Pacquiao is defensively sound for the most part.

Mammy's D is underrated and Marquez is more willing to slug it out a bit more lately. In his prime I would say JMM but now it is close. right now I would say Manny

Just because their styles are offensively oriented doesn't mean they don't have a good defense.

Between Pac & JMM, the one with the best defense is clearly Mayweather. :D

I thought it would be more evenly close, but it looks like more people thinks that JMM is at this point.
