I'm thinking on fighters that dominate the dirty but effective art of headbutting, not just punks that resort to blatant headbutting when they feel frustrated or something like that (see Victor Ortiz) A headbutting master knows how to fool the referees, he' knows how to disguise an intentional butt as accidental, or how to headbutt the **** outta his opponent in close quarters without the referee even noticing it, they succesfully incorporate headbutts into their arsenal sometimes with devastating effects. The outcome of many big fights and championship matches have been decided thanks to a headbutt alone (see Sosa vs Mayol for example) Imo, the HBGOAT was Holyfield, he was able to incorporate headbutts into his combos in a seamless, almost beautiful way, and they'd be so subtle that you'd hardly notice them without replay and slo-mo. He practically made Tyson lose his **** by headbutting him so many times (without the referee noticing it) that Tyson decided to ragequit by munching Holy's ear off Some people here say Ward is a headbutt master, but imo he's far from Holyfield level, I mean just look at the Kessler headbutt, that **** wasn't subtle at all, and I doubt he'd have gotten away with it in neutral ground, but luckily for him he was in Oakland with his judges and referees. Imo Bradley is a better, more subtle headbutter than him. Anyway, who's your pick?
Holyfield and Ward.................Bradly has done his share of butting also, but not as good as Holyfield and Ward. Ward will only fight in his home town, with his personal referee, judges and boxing commission. Ward beat Kessler by intentional illegal head butt, Ward's referee believe that intentional headbutts are legal, as long as it's Ward doing the butting...........
Yeah must by Holyfield. He indeed made combos with it. I remember he managed to produce a lowblow, headbutt, kidneyshot combo once wich is ATG stuff in the fouling department.
I think it's pretty unanimous. Tyson was wrong to do what he did, but I'd say Holyfield deserved it for being so dirty.
The ironic thing is Holyfield keeps citing Jesus Christ, yet throughout his life he behaves like the devil himself.
