In what ways? IMO, Fury is the better defensive boxer, he reads shots nd reacts instinctively to avoid them far better than Joshua. Offensively Fury isn’t particularly heavy handed and doesn’t have Joshua’s level of power. On the other hand Joshua showed he can box from the outside very effectively (not at Fury’s level) while he still lands very heavy shots and combinations that are way more concussive than anything Fury has. So the questions are: Where is the balance between the two attributes great mobility & good power Vs great power & good mobility, which fighter sits in the sweetspot? Which of the fighters styles will dominate the other when they meet?
How? What will Wilder have in his locker that will undo Joshua? Are you expecting Joshua to just walk onto a right hand? Are you expecting Wilder to get a lucky punch home as Ruiz did? How do you think Wilder will cope with Joshua’s much greater skill set, how will Wilder react to the pressure Joshua puts him under and the knowledge that Joshua has brutal power himself? I think Joshua does to Wilder exactly what Fury did
The difference being Wilder landing on you once or twice spells the end for a lot of HWs. McGregor fighting in 8oz versus people who know how to hide behind gloves and force him to throw a lot dampened his power quite a bit.
That last sentence shows you don't understand what happens in the ring. Before the rematch I said that Fury could beat Wilder by keeping the fight in close quarters, which I knew Fury was more than capable of doing and it's how he dominated Wilder in the rematch. We know from watching Joshua fight that he doesn't seem to be able to fight up close. He's a mid range fighter and against Ruiz fought from the outside. We also know that Wilder requires range to deliver his explosive snapping right hand. Which is why I know Joshua would be exactly where Wilder needs him to be. Against Ruiz, a mid range fighter who does better up close Joshua succeeded by staying way tf back playing it safe. The reason he fought from the outside was because if he stood at mid range where he normally fight he was going to get caught again. Unlike Fury who uses his head and waist movement for defense allowing him to get up close, Joshua uses his feet to keep away. As long as Wilder can time him well, just once, it may very well, and likely be lights out for Joshua. So no, Joshua cannot do what Fury did because they are completely different fighters. Joshua's best shot at beating Wilder is to KO early because the longer the fight goes, the greater chance Wilder has at timing Joshua for the right hand.
I just love little rumpypumps that start to impart their pseudo knowledge with opening lines like yours. Are you so insecure that you need to strike out before stating your opinion? IMO (based on quite a lot of background knowledge and experience) Joshua can walk down Wilder in much the same way that Fury did in the 2nd fight. He enjoys much the same advantages that Fury held in physical strength and weight, two of the main factors in Wilder fatiguing so fast. He also fights at a similar pace to that set by Fury therefore not allowing Wilder to disengage at any point, another factor in Wilder getting tired early in WvF2. Joshua has a by far the greater skill set between he and Wilder and delivers his punches more direct, travelling the shorter distance and unlike Fury, Joshua carries enough power to buzz or KO Wilder with either hand at any point. It is for that reason that I’d back Joshua to get his big shots home long before Wilder got the chance to step back and find room to sling his Hail Mary. I disagree with you that Joshua has no game on the inside, I’m sure Klitschko and Whyte would disagree with you as well. Joshua fights well inside the range that Wilder would like, he carries the ability to hurt Wilder, sets a busy tempo and is too physically strong for Wilder to handle if they start grappling and clinching. So Ill maintain my view that Joshua can do much the same to Wilder as Fury did in WvF2 That is to Bully a Bully using size, power, weight, tempo and a greater skill set.
Fury is a better boxer and has a better chin. Joshua's a stiff bodybuilder who quit against a fat Mexican. Joshua's power is also overrated. When Fury fights with the Kronk style, he can knock out anybody.
The fighter who has just been beaten for the first time in his life by way of K.O. and who's just lost his World Title after being able to defend it so many times will lose his confidence. If he rushes to the third fight against Fury then Wilder will be more likely to get knocked out again. So, Wilder should fight Andy Ruiz the guy who knocked out AJ next IMO. He can handle him I guess.
Wilder could knock out norton if he landed I spose If you meant just the fighters active today I could see him knocking out Joshua and Ruiz
Who's the best HW Wilder could beat? That’s the very question that Finkel and Wilders other handlers and matchmakers have been asking for 10 years
1. As the question is who he COULD BEAT. The answer is anyone, because a freak injury to anyone could result in a loss. That is boxing. For example, if Usyk, AJ or Fury's arm came out of the socket or they got a Vitali style cut from a punch. 2. If you mean who is the best boxer he is likely to beat, that is a question worthy of consideration. It is Whyte for me. I think he knocks Whyte out, as Whyte wont be able to grind him down and the freakish power will get him the knock out win in the late rounds.
