Oh by far Sutherland after what 2 Fights? Come on man, he shouldnt be mentioned with any of the the other 3 yet. Id go with Duddy just a tad infront of Macklin, i think Lee has the potentail to be the best in a year or so but needs to stop fighting Bums.

Despite a poor performance on Saturday, I would still go with Andy Lee. He has all the potential, just needs the right trainer, which I'm beginning to think is not Steward.
    Isn't Sutherland a super middle?

Sutherland is a super middle, and a very big one, and hence much bigger than any of these guys. If he was matched with them he'd likely win, even with his lack of experience.

Of the others I think Duddy is the best. I think him and Macklin are pretty well matched, but Duddy has a better chin I reckon.

Lee has some potential, but he looks frail and can't fight to a gameplan. Instead he's dragged into wars, when he really should be a slicker southpaw that boxes.

I would actually bet on Duddy beating Macklin as funny as it may sound given Macklin's recent performances.
As you say Duddy has the chin to take Matthew shots and I think Duddy's improving boxing would give him the edge.
Lee has a good chin too, he took some punishment from Vera and Sipos who both weighed in over the middlweight limit for those fights.
If Lee could sort himself out, stop standing so upright and use his natural talent, he would beat both Duddy and Macklin imo.

Lee's frame worries me at middleweight. The kid looks very thin and frail. Easily pushed back, almost bullied. I think this is why he sometimes struggles to use his best attributes, he struggles to compete physically.

    I wonder if he couldn't make 154.

Duddy and Lee dont look good at middleweight i think a move to light middle would do them both good.

Has to be Matthew Macklin for me, I think he'd walk right through Lee.
Macklin v Duddy would be a great fight, but I think Matt is the better technical fighter and in a war I think he'd still be able to edge Duddy even if John is a bit more experienced at it and has the better chin.

Lee needs a lot of work on him to fulfill the potential he has.

right now duddy is the best overall taking into account level of opposition.

lee has skills but often looks very fragile.

i think macklin takes the number 1 position as soon as he steps up his comp.

I don't rate Duddy at all, so Macklin.

This may be considered a trite question but it has always bothered me...how can someone like Macklin, who obviously considers himself Irish, fight for a British title?

Same as BB I don't rate Duddy, Andy Lee looked awful (despite the wide margin of victory :-( ) the other night...so by default it has to be Macklin

no surprise there . the english lads totally writing off the irish fighters - ala dunne, rogan and mccloskey , not one of you backed them to win there big fights and look what happened . btw macklin was born in "britian" which is why he fights for it , not because he feels british , mccloskey is irish but he fights for it . its all to do with getting big fights , rankings and big pay days that you can only get with title fights
