lyndsay will be too strong for appelby . appelby has had cherry picked opponents so far and lyndsays ko record of 5 out of 13 wins is not what it should be , he has a lot more power then the record suggests .

    Appleby has cherry picked opponents?

In his 1st 14 fights he has faced Simpson and Pickering...... plus some of the more obscure guys he faced haven't exactly been puddings either.

Compare that with a typical 14 fight SN novice...... I would guess they wouldn't have been anywhere near 10 round level yet.

No way does he cherry pick with simpson and Pickering on his record. He is looking to clear the British featherweight scene early by the looks of it.

If Appleby's been cherrypicking you have to ask what Lindsay has been doing. His cherries have been picked down the finest detail, the perfect shade of red and with a well proportioned stork.

now now, TFFP lets not let this thread go to the dogs

both have a couple of decent names on their records but we dont know everything about them which is why this fight is great; two young undefeated fighters putting it on the line early in their careers, shows the character of both

anyone else decent supposed to be on this hayemaker card?

Macklins english not Irish  If anything, the Irish hindered his career.

From Wiki: " Macklin and his brother Seamus, who is also a boxer, spent much of his youth in his mothers native County Tipperary and it was there that he learnt to play one of Ireland's national sports, hurling.

Macklin became a talented hurling player in his own right and represented Tipperary, a leading team in Irish hurling, at all age levels up to Under 21 inter county level."

All that time he wasted playing Hurling when he could have been honing his skills in the proper sport of boxing. He could have been a p4p great if it wasn't for those pesky Irish :-(

Duddy is the best Irish middleweights right now, with Macklin very close behind. What makes Duddy better is that he has been stuck deep in the trenches and has come out on top.Lee got things tight once and buckled under the pressure.I like Macklin, he's a better boxer than Duddy but Duddy seems a bit stronger.Adding to that, Duddy has the best jab and the best chin of the 3.

Sorry for going off topic but Macklin making the Tipp county team is a massive accomplishment for someone who only played hurling 3 months a year - he must be a dam good athlete

Stop talking about things you know nothing about. Hurling is the fastest field sport in the world and one of the toughest which undoubtedly helped Macklin develop his hand to eye coordination.

At the moment I would go with Duddy just Edging Macklin with Lee third. Duddy is a great brawler who is coming on technically with his new coach. Great chin, good heart and a decent punch and in my opinion has fought tougher opposition. Macklin seems to be also getting much better over the past 18 months and Lee seems to have taken a backward step somewhat, I'm hoping its just ring rust etc because potentially he ould be the best!

Yeah read that fact about Macklin being a Tipp U-21 hurler, is that a mistake?? He must be decent so!!
