Hagler reach was 75" compared to Monzon's 76".
It's impossible to predict a winner out of those two. They both are two of the most complete MW's in history. Good punchers, great chins and technically sound. Monzon was a very smart boxer, but Hagler was too and he figured out all of his opponents. Also height and reach would be too much of a factor here. Monzon's reach was 76" to Haglers 75". One thing i'll bet on is that Monzon couldn't hurt Hagler.

Not enough film on Ketchel but i could see him winning a shootout against Benn. I think his durability would prevail.

Eubank would be a war. I think Kalambay would win a comfortable decision with Valdes having a punchers chance.

I think Valdez would have a live shot against any of the greats that came at him directly stylistically...that KO of Bad Bennie spoke volumes to me...about this guy's power.

I agree Valdez would have found Tommy's chin. The only caveat is that Rodrigo was a notorious slow starter and could be prone to cuts but who stopped him on cuts? This one's for you Red! Carlos M. was better but damn, Valdez was such a two-fisted wrecking machine! I simply don't see another middle ever doing what he did to Briscoe in 74. Quite simply, a two-fisted heat-seeking missile!!

What dpw417 said...in spades. King Carlos had the reach, power, and savvy to basically keep Rodrigo at bay. But you put ANY of the ATG Middles against Valdez who would choose to press, come forward and try and make a war of it?...good luck all of you ATG's! Eras aside, he would have had LaMotta looking like he'd been thru a meat-grinder! Valdez in that great 58-65 Middle era would have been something to see. Tiger-Valdez pvp would have been a treat but Rodrigo's speed of hand IMO would have bested Dick. The (guilty) Hurricane IMHO would be toast...etc. Has there been a Valdez-Hagler what-if thread? Now we're talkin'! Both prone to cuts and both having not ever faced anyone quite like the other.
Lastly, lets not forget that we fight fans stateside and across the pond on the continent sometimes forget that both King Carlos and Rodrigo labored for years in South America before 'exploding' onto the national stage. In our evaluation, we sometimes fail to realize that they were, at least, somewhat battle worn by the time we heard of them yet still warrant ATG status. My somewhat limited $0.02.

He maybe beats Valdez but it sure as hell isnt easy. That statement doesnt even make sense.
Nobody is beating a prime Valdez easily. Nobody

The Hagler who flogged Sibson would outbox him handily for mine. The jab, the movement, combinations and angles. Too much skill. I've been watching a lot of Valdes and am not sold on him as much as others, not by a long shot. This is coming from a guy that wants to be impressed i really do. He has a big punch and superb durability but skill wise i think he's average tbh. Monzon was well worn by the time they fought, comfortably older than Valdes was when beaten by Corro.

I think Valdes is at his best against come forward fighters. Having said that he's below the level of a guy like LaMotta.
