Slip one trick pony is a bit harsh however he isn't the best i'd say. His style is suited to kind of fighter and if the fighter cannot adapt to that then unfortunately neither can the ingle camp. Naz was Brendan Ingles perfect match and unfortunately he wont find a better one. Brook is class though and I rate him :good
because wether he's got Mike Tyson, Roy Jones or Pernell Whitaker we'll train them the exact same way, same mentality and same approach...for me thats not a great trainer. he can only train a certain person with certain attributes.
I was surprised nobody mentioned Oliver Harrison..... but then again, (unfortunately) he is more famous for being fired by Team Khan than for anything he has achieved as a trainer. Hopefully that will change in the near future, however.
Alex Arthur is the one to ask - he's been trained by everyone (well, him and Danny Williams). More seriously, Paul Cook has done a great job with Kevin Mitchell, and the likes of Johnny Eames, Brian Hughes MBE, Danny Lee Jnr and Jim Evans are also worthy of a mention.
For some reason i thought it was what non Uk trainer but is involved in Uk boxing :huh oops. Surely Ingle, if you even break it down to " What trainer got there fighters the most belts and cash ? " Was the question.." ever ? last year ? this year ? prospect ? "
We ahve a massive list of trainers here and most are good at what they do, many have been lucky, if a promotor pays for your gym and sends you a couple of good fighters who are on TV regular more will turn up at your gym, some trainers have one or two decent boxers and when they are finished the trainer goes to. There are many fine trainers out there struggling to find a decent premises bouncing around from amateur gyms until they fall out with the club that runs it. There are many top trainers you have never heard of and most of them are ex fighters, one or two mentioned are lucky, they have picked up boxers from good trainers that have been shafted and then have a good product and make a name off some other trainers hard graft. Politics has a lot to do with which trainer gets the better prospects, so think about some of the lesser known trainers, most of them get less pay than amateur coaches but are there every week. NONE OF THEM DESERVE TO BE CALLED BAD TRAINERS, some lucky yes, some need to learn a bit more but none are bad or they would have no boxers in their gym
Agree, but do not discount Rob McCracken! His success with Froch speaks for itself & he's now training Tyson Fury, so we shall if he can & does improve Fury?
