I'd say that Paul Williams is the better fighter. But that's not taking anything away from Donaire. He looked excellent against Martinez.

Williams other problem in a Donaire comparison isn't even remotely his fault. He beats Margarito, who goes on to an epic with Cotto, be demolished by Mosley, and disgrace the sport, while Nonito beats Vic, who goes on to destroy Mijares and Arce while looking like the best fighter in the world south of 122.

I'm hate being "flavor of the week", but tell me that Margo is as good a win as Darchinyan these days.

Listen to everyone on this forum and they think Margarito had "loaded gloves" for the Cotto fight, the Lujan fight, and the Clottey fight. And he tried to load them for the Shane fight... Yet, Williams doesn't get credit for beating a "loaded gloves" Margarito when it is actually MORE likely he did it for Williams than the other fights, since they fought in Cali where the commission is much softer on this.

    But I see your point...

It ain't the real reason. People just don't like Paul and have a hard time giving him credit over anyone.

****... with all of those flaws everyone talks about, he should just retire before he gets killed in the ring...

just cause people think Donaire is better than PW doesn't mean they're calling him a bum

Donaire is great. But c'mon man, don't play stupid. Put it in context. You know you could compare Williams to anyone out there and people are gonna bring up how easy he was to hit against Quintana. And how he doesn't have power, and how he leaves his left hand down after punches, and how he all-of-a-sudden doesn;t have a chin anymore, blah blah blah...

So many flaws... so few losses.

i'm sure if I post a thread about who's better between Williams and Hatton, Williams will win. Same with a bunch of other fighters. Give Donaire his props. His record and performances in the last 4 fights have been really amazing.

Between you and me (don't tell Boo), I think Williams would beat Pavlik handily this fall.

Both excellent fighters, but Paul relies on his workrate too much lets leave it at that.

Donaire is in no way a more rounded fighter then Williams. We have not seen enough of Donaire vs top level fighters to really be able to judge him. Vs Vic he had a guy that was perfect for him, not sure that it would be the case even facing some of the guys that Vic beat.

We have seen Williams beat high level fighters of many different styles, so we know what he can do vs top level guys.

For me I think that we really need to see more of Donaire, but i really like what I have seen of him som far.

Man please... you post a thread with Williams vs. Hatton, and people wil bring up "resume" or whatever other bull**** excuse.

Besides, I never took anything from Donaire. Read the thread. The only one who is getting scrutinized for every punch he ever took is PW. You know it. I know it. You just aren't a fan of his, which is fine, but don't let that cloud your judgement. You're smarter than that.

i think Donaire still has some learning to do. What's he gonna do against a fast potshotter who's light on his feet and just flicks his jab at him all night? You can't counterpunch that, you've gotta press forward. Donaire doesn't like to press the action and he doesn't like to get off first..

Donaire has a rare combination of speed, power, technique, brains and heart...Paul's a good fighter with some similar traits but none to the extent of Nonito's

To me one guy looks impressive but the other looks amazing, one guy looks like a pound for Pound talent, but the other looks like a future pound for pound king

I'd say Paul has the tools to be a great fighter while Nonito has the tools to be more, feel me?

I'd say his biggest fault is being in a division that no1 really follows, even among boxing fans, cuzz I honestly don't see how any1 can look at a Willams fight and think he has a better arsenal then Nonito, or applys his arsenal more effectively, I just don't c it
