i think it's better to compare them when pac retires. retired fighters when compared to current fighters, somehow gives advantage to the retired ones. not saying that pac is the better fighter, just my observation.

Your point is noted, but I think it would apply if I was comparing each guy's resume. I'm not even asking about what would happen in a h2h clash between them. In this thread I ask about pure skills and abilities and although Pac has been improving rapidly as a fighter the last few years, I don't think he can get much better than he already is, skillwise.

    Ok, ok, answer me this.

You need analysis to be convinced that Whitaker was a better fighter than Pacquiao?

do you think that it will have no effect IF he beats cotto, mosley and floyd? i'm sure people will change their opinion if that happens. beating oscar and hatton is not enough, at least for me, to judge pac.

Of course it will matter. But I remind you, we're not talking resume here, but boxing ability. The way Pac beats them will also have an effect on people's judgment on his skills. But in all probability, if he manages to beat those guys it will make a difference.

i just can't judge a prime pac's skills with those fights alone. he's almost unmarked in those fights.

Guys, there is way too much intelligent, well thoughtout, unbiased Manny Pac discussions going on in this thread. You really need to stop it...this is ESB, remember?
