Pac vs Algeri = 250 k , Pac coming off his biggest win in over 5-6 years. Canelo vs Angulo = 350 k , Canelo coming off a Heart breaking loss??
Pac is the bigger draw. Look at how many watched the fights globally. If we are discussing only American PPV then Canelo's last 3 PPV's have destroyed Pacquiao's last 3 PPV's in terms of total buys. But we can't ignore everything before that.
pac is the bigger draw but canelo is steadily approaching his level. pacs last fight reportadly did a measly 250k buys but we all knew algieri was a sham opponent and frankly the fight never should have been on ppv to begin with canelo cotto would likely do more then triple pac algieri and prob even beat may v maidana but that does not mean he is a bigger star he is just fighting an awesome opponent who also has alot of drawing power, in saying that pac v may obviously would quadriple the ppv sales of canelo cotto
There's no comparison. Manny is still #2 but a few things working well against him was the fact this fight again was over in china......where his last US PPV numbers were down around 400K against Rios......the fact the price was $70.......the fact that it was around the holidays. I didn't buy the fight....people would rather hold on to their money for black friday than to see Manny face someone they didn't know. It will be interesting to see if Floyd uses this to step away from the fight with Manny......or if he tries to squeeze more money out of him.
Hbo hasn't released ppv numbers. The 250k is floyd fanatic ****. Glasier said it was over 300k and he's the only one with a slight bit of credibility to say anything. He was also the the one who said floyd maidana did 725k which Floyd's minions said was bull**** n that glasier isn't credible but when he comes out with a low number for manny they start throwing it around as fact...after shaving about 75k off the actual reported number.
