man im sure alot of people jaws dropped when marquez imo bested pacquiao, being a pacquiao fan and a filipino watching the fight with a bunch of family. Although they did believe pacquiao won by a large margin i stay to my opinion. Cotto seems to be such a huge underdog was he a bigger underdog than jmm?
Well hes not as big of as an underdog as Marquez was at the time, a lot of people including myself didnt think Marquez would go the distance let alone beat Pacquiao ( 8 rounds to 4 on my card ) Mayweather is not known for be a big puncher at 147, nevermind 154 and Cotto seems to be a lot better now hes ditched Emmanuel Steward and despite people calling him shot or removed from his prime, hes a lot more technically sound People have been using the excuse that Cotto only looked good because he was fighting people who just stand in front of him to get hit but I was the first one to criticize his fights with Foreman and Mayorga, he just wasnt in those fights for me, plodding around the ring in a safety first style (its why I believe Steward is one of the most over rated trainers in the sport) but then the Margarito fight he looked amazing, fighting off the back foot, applying pressure, using both hands, great spead and combinations . . . . for me it was a clinic! I want Mayweather to beat him just because I believe he is a great fighter in his own right and deserves to be rated number one but deep down I want Cotto to pull off the upset despite that would give all the ******ed pacquiao fans the excuse to say MAYWEATHER COULDNT BEAT PACS LEFTOVERS!!! LULZ!!! This Cotto is at a more comfortable weight, hes not coming off a fight where he was cut or beaten up, hes technically more sound and hes a live underdog in this fight! Im predicting a Mayweather UD in a harder than expected fight but who knows, there could be an upset brewing
Well, considering all of the Pac camp was saying that Marquez would be ko'd in 3 rounds or so, I think they had most people believing that it was the biggest mismatch in history, for a championship. Now, it's pretty obvious that JMM could hold his own. Cotto could too.
