1.Chael Sonnen 2.Dan Henderson 3.Vitor Belfort 4.Michael Bisping 5.Mark Munos im tourn betweem sonnen and hendo, of course chael is the wrestler, and did stomp andersons ass for 22 imns and 51 secs, and then hendo who kos 99 percent of the people he hits with the h-bomb...who do you out of the 5.
none of them Anderson fighting at 185 is irritating as he's too good He'd stomp all but one of the 205lbers too
He has finished 3 out of the 5 on that list and has looked all but invincible against everyone except Sonnen. Bisping is not and never will be a threat to Anderson and would get his **** severely pushed in if they were to ever face each other. Munoz with his wrestling and powerful ground and pound could potentially be a threat, but I doubt it; even Leben and Maia were tagging him consistently and Munoz does not have an uncrackable chin, I could see it going very similarly to the Hendo fight or the second Okami fight. And I'm getting a little over people putting forth Belfort as a legit title contender right now. He got his gift shot when he came back, and he may well be a threat with his hand speed and power, but he was finished by Anderson embarrassingly easily (got KO of the year, did it not?) and he has done absolutely nothing to work his way back up to a title shot (except destroying Akiyama who has been nothing but disappointing since starting with the UFC).
If munoz fights smart then i could see him as the biggest threat. He has knockout power but his stand up is not up there with bisping and vitor. But he is a very good wrestler and if he could keep silva down and land those bombs. I could see him beating silva.
Vitor has a fight coming up against rumble johnson. I expect vitor to win that fight then hopefully vitor vs bisping happens and winner gets a title shot.
But is Vitor at a point in his career where he can evolve enough to pose a legit threat to Anderson? Given his age, ring time and the way the first fight ended, I doubt it somehow.
Vitor was doing fine before that front kick. Silva hasn't used that kick before so it vitor wasn't expecting it. Next time he would be. I still like his speed and power when they're standing. If he gets past rumble johnson then beat bisping next then he should get another shot.
? This content is protected As awesome as it was, it was a basic front snap kick to the head. Expecting it or otherwise Vitor was soundly beaten. He was doing fine for the whole first 2 minutes of a 25 minute fight before he was brutally and definitively knocked out for the first time in his career. Granted, if he gets past Rumble and destroys Bisping in impression fashion he'll probably be in the best position to challenge, but I doubt he'll do much better the second time round.
???:huh Shogun-rashad-rampage -lyoto(sparring partner) etc could give anderson a real tough challenge and i could see them beating silva especially a great wrestler like evans. Evans has been using his wrestling more lately and we all saw what chael did to silva. Shogun and rampage can bang with him. Just saying it ain't gonna be easy like you're making it sound.
Anderson looks like he's channeling his inner Morpheus. "Stop trying to hit me, and hit me!" [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvzgRhBYgho[/ame]
Well didn't Sonnen destroy and dominate Silva for 4.5 rounds? I'm pretty sure he can easily beat him if he doesn't get caught in another dumb sub.
