I just really have a need to straightened this out. Is Oscar De La Hoya really Floyd Mayweather's boss? Myself, I think not. I googled Golden Boy Promotions and Floyd's name was listed nowhere, as a fighter or key person. I know they are involved with the promotion of Mayweather's fights but I think it is just a business deal between GBP and MP. Mayweather is listed as a fighter under his own promotion company. It seems to me that the people who insist that Oscar is Mayweather's boss just DKSAB. Can anybody shine a brighter light on this subject?
http://www.goldenboypromotions.com/fighters/ He's listed as a GBP fighter....ODLH is Mayweathers boss and is richer than him as well:hi:
He works with DLH because of both of their feelings about Arum. Arum screwed them both out of money. DLH said himself," If you can't beat em, join em." They work together but Floyd uses GBP as a partner. He is not signed to them. Why wouldn't Oscar follow suit with Mayweather if he can make a good bit of money off of Floyd. Don't get it twisted, Floyd makes a lot more money off of himself than Oscar's company does. It's the GB fighters that Floyd chooses to fight that Oscar makes his money off. Good business in my opinion. Floyd's guarantees are so big that whatever is left Oscar gets a percentage off of that. Floyd is working his popularity to the fullest.
This sounds more logical and I am inclined to agree with it. I just don't see any " I'm your boss " relationship and I don't think Mayweather would ever accept a business relationship with Oscar as his boss. He doesn't have that kind of respect for Oscar and that's what pisses Oscar off.
