Logic. If he was that fast at middleweight, outside of his prime and above his prime weight, he would most certainly be much faster at welter.

Meldrick had the quickest hands ever in terms of fast twitch muscle fibers. He wasn't overall as fast as someone like Jones Jr. or Camacho, but in terms of handspeed, none could match him.

In terms of pure handspeed...I think its Meldrick Taylor. Tho Jones, Camacho, Judah, Mayweather and Ali deserve mention. In terms of p4p speed tho...I thinks Ali has it by a mile.

Why? Ali was quicker of feet, but Tyson threw combinations just as fast with more conviction. I was more impressed with his handspeed than Ali's flurries.

And why do you think P4P Ali is faster than the smaller guys? Just because he's bigger and therefore shouldn't be as fast as he is? I've actually heard that argument used to say Joe Louis was faster than Roy Jones. What is your rationale?

Tyson was more powerful and more explosive...but in NO WAY had more handspeed then a young prime Ali. Go back and watch the way he put combos together and was able to toss that jab out there...its insane for a man his size.

Watch that combo before the KD. Its not even close.

BTW, you reminded me...I forgot about Pernell in my "honorable mention" list.
