Watch an learn what?? like ive never seen alis handspeed or somethinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRs5budNvxg&feature=related
I've seen the clip often, I still believe that Tyson was more explosive(which does play into quickness and handspeed) and had quicker short combinations, amplified by the fact that he threw compact punches rather than fully extended punches like Ali. I don't know if Pernell deserves mention among those guys to be honest in terms of pure quickness of hand, he was just better than all of them as a pure boxer and ring visionary. I've never considered him extremely quick. In the Ramirez rematch for example, he doesn't even look particularly quick, just very slick and facing a badly outclassed opponent. In his younger days you could probably make a case though, in terms of overall speed, not so much handspeed though.
Yeah pernell was so slick he never had to rely on speed or power..He could be very fast when he wanted..and also crack when he decided to turn it up..pernell is on the list to in terms of handspeed
True he didnt use it as often as the others...but a young Pernell was LIGHTNING fast. And that Ali clip was just as fast...but in the context of a fight...rather than a warmup. Tyson was definately more explosive...but in terms of pure handspeed was not anywhere near Ali.
Stop saying Floyd please. We all know he is extremely fast, but his handspeed just isn't faster then some of the others listed here. This clear if you just watch films.
"Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee. Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see." Muhammad Ali I wouldn't say outright fastes but p4p hes gotta be right up there. (plus any chance to include an ali quote lol)
Yes and that is how I remember Ali. fast on the feet and lightning quick hands. Alot of people only see him late in his career, which is why he is often criticized as being overrated.
Camacho was fast but his power paled in comparision to Roy's and I still give the edge in speed to Roy.
