Foxy 01, :yikes He had 7 fights at the weight, then was faced with a dilemma when he had no real chance of unifying the division. Either to remain at 168, or to move up for a new challenge at 175. He chose the latter, and beat Johnson and Del Valle, aswell as destroying Griffin and Hill. Joe could have moved up to 175 whenever he wanted, to fight better fighters, but he turned down the opportunity, and to fight in America in 99, to stay and fight the following guys instead: Starie Sheika Veit McIntyre Jiminez Pudwell etc. He fought in a weak division and unified it in his 14th year against Kessler, who wasn't a great fighter, and who hadn't beaten any great fighters. From 99-2003, Joe's division was one of the weakest across all 17 divisions. Roy moved up to 175 and dominated, while Joe remained and fought mainly nobodies. Roy could have stayed at 168 and dominated it for years, and Joe has to be thankful that he moved up out of the way. Anybody that fights in a division for 14 years, should have the best stats and be declared the best at that weight. He had 44 fights there. What do you think would have happened if Roy had have had 44 fights at the weight instead of 7? You can declare Joe as the greatest 168 fighter if you like, just based on accomplishments only. But I don't see how it's such a great achievement. Go and find an adult, and ask them to explain what the word IRONY means. :good
You quite sure 'bout that IB. Super-Middle would leave Raymi at a considerable weight disadvantage although I've no doubt he'd win by KO1. I always assumed he was gonna begin his triumphant march through the divisions at the lower weights, but perhaps he figures he might as well deal with the big boys first
Like I said go and dig coal, it was obviously what you were born for. Don't even think about the word irony, when you try to highjack a Super Middleweight thread with your constant references to Jones L / Heavy resume. I'm sure if you suck even harder on his dick, you could bore the rest of us with his Cruiser and Heavy resumes as well.:roll: You really should try to read the thread titles before you waffle on about Roid Jones. Even a coal digger should be able to manage that. So again for the benefit of your fellow simpletons, explain what is so wonderful about Roids 7 fights at 168? We know Toney was killing himself to make S / Middle, and indeed immediately after that fight went to 175, and inside 2 and a half years was fighting at Cruiser. We also know that Pazienza was a former L / Welter, so that leaves you 5 wins to drool over. Even a nonentity fanboy like you can't spin that into an ATG Super Middle resume.
It depends on what ur looking for the greatest smw fighter ever to fight in the division is jones jr by a fair way. But joe calz has best record. Jones is better than joe hands down. Btw jones fought joe at lhw. And jones was done.
Roy would spank any smw in history in his prime and most mw. Jones in his prime head to head is near unbeatable . Mabe hagler has a shot and ray robinsonwould beat him but the rest my money would be on jones
Roy beat toney easily with one hand. Toney would beat joe calz . Roy beats them all in my opinion . So he his the greatest smw.
It dont matter how many fights he had there he fought in the divison and was a champ there so. He is the best u dummy
You could make a claim for Roy Jones, being that he was the most dominating fighter of the 90's and he was in the SMW division for a decent amount of time, and you can also make a claim for Joe C due to his longevity at the division and how he essentially beat everyone at 68, although the division in his time was one of the weakest in boxing. But in their primes, it's not even close. Roy Jones was the superior fighter and I'd imagine would be heavily favored in their respective primes at 168.
Kohl briefly wasn't answering ANY calls. A fax or a bit of patience and Davis would have been in touch with him no problem. It's a pathetic excuse . How the **** can the DM repeatedly offering Jones the fight for good money meaning he can ever be accused of ducking. You fanboys are ****in delusional.
 yeah Loudon owned himself with his ******-logic and cringeworthy hero worship of Roid Jones. This is a debate he has NO chance of winning. :nut I owned myself?? I'll destroy both of you fanboys simultaneously in this thread. Another one too stupid to see his own hypocrisy. Clearly you want to get embarrassed and be turned into another forum laughing stock like GIMPerial1.
I am seriously confused by this. The opening post of this thread asks "who's the best fighter ever at 168?" It clearly says 168, which is clearly the weight named as Super Middleweight by the WBC, WBO, IBF, WBA and The Ring and just about every other boxing source I have ever read. Yet you keep going on about some other "Super Middle" that isn't the weight that had Calzaghe, Eubank, Benn, Froch, Ward, etc. So what the hell are you going on about?
IB - Perhaps you should take a look at the first post  I'd noticed some people seemed to be talking at cross purposes. I had been trying to tell you subtly M8.....
