Maybe not the greatest but there weren't many Aussies tougher than Jeff Harding.

...and but for one bizarre and ill-advised comeback fight, we might be saying the same today of Paul Briggs.

Wow, that's bold. So you have Vic at #1, or behind Fenech, or what?

I'm foggy on a lot of Fenech's career because I never really followed or learned about the small divisions back then....I haven't really paid attention to guys like Zarate and Zaragoza.

    But, comparing Vic to Zoo
Vic has the best win: Mijares
Vic's titles: 4 (IBF Fly, IBF Superfly, WBA Superfly, WBC Superfly) Zoo: 3 (IBF 140 twice, WBA 140, WBC 140)
Defenses: Vic had 10, Zoo had 13
1st title won: Vic beat Pacheco (B+), Zoo beat Rodriguez (B-)
2nd title won: Vic beat Kirilov (B), Zoo beat a slipping version of Gonzales (B-)
3rd title won: Vic beat Mijares (A+), Zoo beat Mitchell (C- with bad knee)
4th title won: Vic beat Arce (B+), Zoo beat Judah (A)
Vic's prime was disrupted by Donaire, who was ATG level at Superfly. Zoo's prime was disrupted by Phillips, who wasn't that good.

I happen to agree that Mijares is a better win than Judah, although I feel we may be in the minority on that one.

Mijares was on fire and more proven than Judah at the time of the respective fights. He also was a really big super fly whereas Vic had already climbed in weight. I think it's pretty clear that Vic had the better win. Judah probably finished out with a better career overall than Mijares though, but that's sort of irrelevent.

I think even that is debatable. Mijares only has one legitimate defeat since Darchinyan (to unbeaten Leo Santa Cruz, no shame there; both losses to Cermeño and the one to Vic Terrazas were fairly blatant robberies) and has put together quite a respectable body of work as he continued to climb, strikingly, from super fly all the way to lightweight. Judah in contrast had a very short prime (and window of even remotely world class efficacy) and you could argue that even as early as Baldomir he's capped off with no more great victories without asterisks (many believe he got a gift over Matthysse, and his 2nd best victory in the last dozen years is a hail-mary punch after getting beaten up rather severely by Kaizer Mabuza)

Judah has three great wins (unbeaten Witter, Cory Spinks, and the aforementioned LMM) whereas you cold argue Mijares only has Arce, but for substantive depth of resume, Mijares possesses more than enough B- to B+ range stuff to compensate with Judah's record being very heavily top-loaded and replete with D grade and lower victims.

So you reckon Griffo is the best Aussie born fighter then Macca ? I would say he did the most in America out of any Aussie fighter and along with Rose and Fenech fought the best opposition.

Peter Jackson was evidently a very big deal in Brisbane in the 1880s - 1890s. I have visited his grave myself, I found it quite moving.

    Cheers Mate.

Terron Millett was equal a scalp/quality victory to someone like Munoz. An underrated scalp for Judah, especially considering the performance.
