Well, he didn't take on anyone of note, and whilst he bulldozed everyone, he didn't do anything that made me think he was definitely going to go on and have success at World level.

For me the greatest of the 'Murderers Row' was Jimmy Bivins, although Burley contests that. Burley might be deemed to have been better than Bivins regardless of Bivins beating him, because Bivins did have some kind of natural weight advantage over Burley. But you could easily argue it the other way. Very close. I remember years ago on the classic forum there was a thread about who had the best wins resume of all time, not the best resume overall, just the best highest quality wins ledger, and SuzieQ49 said it was Lloyd Marshall, stuck out in my mind, Lloyd Marshall surely has one of the greatest wins resumes of all time.

Sam Langford though, all day.
