Pac has beaten no one at 147 that could ever be remotely mentioned as an ATG. Where does this thread even come from?
Pac might be a p4p ATG, but at WW, I wouldn't pick him to beat hardly any of the ATG 147s.

perhaps you are right. I was sort of trying to think up a name which was great which he could beat. On another thread many of us thought that Benitez fought better at 154 than 147, which is what I always thought. He seemed to find his niche and weight and confidence at that weight.

Basilio would be one of the worst match-ups for Pacquiao. I don't see why people are picking these far stronger, rougher customers who would rip Pac out of his game by taking him to hell and back on the inside. I understand the guy has fast feet, works angles nicely, etc., but he's not ****in' Willie Pep.

Interesting thread and not easy to decide. The Pac from the Cotto fight would possibly be able to beat Trinidad or a younger Oscar at 147. I could also see him causing problems for Vernon Forrest and quite a few others.

Also, I'd favor Gavilan to beat Pac but how great a fight would that have been? Instant fight of the year I imagine.

He ain't beating Trinidad or DLH on top of their game.......with the exception of Barrera I he has not beat ONE prime prospect who was not old, washed up, weightdrained etc ect plus most of his victims he faced after they have been coming of career ending KO losses or severe beat downs. Fact.

He is very carefully matched and brilliantly marketed but Trinidad, DLH , SRL or Hearns etc etc would put a severe beating on him .

The proof is in the pudding, Roach /Arum only match him with has beens or never were's.

If and when those two idiots Pac and FMJ decide to fight all this Pac WW ATG killer is going to stop because FMJ ain't getting hit by a lucky punch and a lucky punchers chance is all what Pac got between the two.......and I am not a May fan, far from it but he has Pacs number 24/7.

You see no interest in pitting the champ of today with the champ of yesteryear?

You should probably go watch some fights of emile's before making ridiculous statements like that.

It's the fast feet and angles. Rough customers like Hatton and Margo are awful style matchups for Pac. That thinking was clear as day after Pac demolished Hatton, and leading up to the Pac-Margo fight. Yeah, obviously Basilio isn't either of those guys, but implementing your strength and size by roughing up or attacking Pac is not an easy task in my view unless you have decent outside game or at least an ability to stay on the inside (Or weather any storm on your way in). But then again, maybe Basilio could keep the fight in closer quarters. I just think he'd get tripped up in a mid-range badly by Pac's offense, footwork, and angles.

He doesn't have to be like Willie Pep with the way he punches.

No way Manny beats Starling. How often did he really breach Clotteys defence?

Moochy would catch most of Pacs shots and proceed to beat him up.

I believe he's ripping you for even considering Pac could beat, let alone STOP, Griffth.

Emile would spoil Pacman to death, possibly literally.

I called Pac to stop both Hatton and Margarito (was slightly off with the latter pick). I guess it just depends on whether or not you think Pac is a big enough puncher to deter Basilio. I don't, as nobody really did. Not even Robinson.
