I don't even know what lufcrazy is talking about anymore. But I guess if he doesn't make any sense we can all just put that down to his rapier wit and savvy in the art of dry humour. Maybe we'll be able to comprehend his genius one of these days.

he doesn't have a history of being stopped late at all.

I just think pac could be the man to do it here.

the thread isn't necessarily about emile anyways, it's more to do with today's WW #1 matching up against the best #1 of the yesteryear.

I don't think he beats robinson, gavilan, napoles nor leonard.

Griffith is bigger than I'd given him credit for, I never thought of him as being a big WW but seemingly that might be the case in this matchup.

what's the closest comparison we have for these two?

Griffith was still strong as **** as a Middleweight. He'd make Pac cry I reckon.

In hypothetical matchups I just tend to go with an answer based on what we know of each fighter, so I wouldn't pick pick Ricardo Mayorga to outbox Don Curry for a stupid but obvious example.

And here, I'd say it's unlikely Pac stops Griffith late, judging by the evidence we have at our disposal :thumbsup

I still think pac wins but I may back down like a little ***** and agree he won't stop griffith - infact whenever I said pac stops griffith, it was clearly dry humour :roll::roll::roll:

Sure, but I also value his footwork and use of angles. There's more of a challenge to keep range then there is having to deter Basilio, especially with Pac's legs. The guy's not some stationary target. And he has a history of eating up aggressive, offensive-type fighters (Barrero, Hatton, Cotto, Margo, etc). It's the more technical, boxing oriented tactics that have troubled him (Marquez, Morales).

First fight I had Pac by a point IIRC, though I'll be re-scoring it on Saturday :D Close as **** though, either way.

2nd fight I had JMM up 115-112, easy fight to score IMO though not any less competitive and both have a great showing.

both my scorecards are in the scorecard thread, but I thought the rematch was 6-6 in rounds tbh.

I'll be rewatching them both soon, belters the both of them.
